Fan speed and driver issue?

Ive been reading about people 8800GT cards getting really hot because the fan speed always stays at 40%. They say you need to install RivaTuner to solve the issue.

Anyone else has this problem?

I've read about this as well..And that's the card I'm thinking of getting..So I'd be interested in if using RivaTuner to fix the fan speeds keeps it much cooler.

When I get the card Im gonna use RivaTuner to setup profiles so if the Core temp goes up to 60C the fan speed will go 100%. If you dont do this the fan stays at 40% and the card can hit 90C!!

I've heard most people are sticking the fan to 70% for best balance for sound / cooling under load. Slight woosh but it won't overheat or cause artifacts. Although this could vary depending on your general case airflow / sound proofing. Worth a try to begin with to see how well it is for you.
