Far Cry 1.2 Patch Released (for those of you who still care)

LOl im gussing far cry isnt such a great game after all.
 
I traded it and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow as part of my pre-order for Doom 3 :)

Where can you trade in PC games? Couldn't you just burn it and trade it in? How do they protect against that?
 
I traded them in at EB Games...they've had that policy for as long as I can remember. I got $15 each for the 2 of 'em.

You sign an affadavit saying that you completely uninstalled them from your hard drive but there's no real way to enforce it.

Far Cry is currently sitting in my cupboard with some Game vouchers and they shall be going towards HL2. Joint Ops and UT 2004 are for Doom 3 ;)

yeah, except when they want to rip you off by only wanting to give you 2 or 3 bucks for a game, and then turn around and sell it for 20. I understand making a profit, but they could balance the ratio there a little better than that.
 
I'm pretty sure that the games that they do pay you 2 or 3 bucks for and then price it at 20 will not be sold in any case. I've seen used trade-ins hanging around EB Games for ages because the morons priced them too high.
 
Isn't this the patch that greatly reduces performance for ATi cards? I'll pass.
 
Four words can describe this patch and FC in general:

Too little too late.

Both this and the SDK are 3, going on 4 months overdue. Thats one of the reasons i gave up modding for it.
 
Yeah i traded ina bunch of games at eb and they only gave me $5, they werent very good games but there was alot. So now i never trade in my games, its not worth it
 
Yea i already uninstalled farcry, but ubi is known from doing stuff like this. They release a game, and then they say they are going to release a patch, and they do, but only after 50 delays, and then usually it fixes some problems, but adds new ones, raven shield anyone?

Can't be bothered...my computer wants to devour Doom 3, not some Cack Jarver.

Far cry is gathering dust on my shelf. :hmph:
 
/me DLs it and will try and play through it

I restarted my saves.. I got as far as River on realistic, and realized it was the most tedious, annoying SP campaign I've ever played.
Normal (or whatever setting I started on) seemed alot more fun.. but, I'd rather have this patch before I play again

Yes I admit, I'm one of the few that still likes playing Far Cry, but crytek really shot themselves in the foot by putting so many delays on this patch and the sdk. There's no way the mod/multiplayer community is gonna hold together once Doom3 and HL2 hit the shelves. I think Far Cry is starting to go the way of the stereotypical "game that succeded in presentation but failed in execution". I honestly just don't see how it's going hold onto it's customer base, let alone generate more, once the previously mentioned games are released.
 
I hate Far Cry....sure it had nice graphics but the multiplayer was horrible :(

60 bucks down the drain....not to mention the 7 hours it took to install :P

HL's ending was great!
Besides, there's a reason he used the sarcasm tag ;)
 
Good old Crytek. Nothing like their crap bug testing process.. :)

Not great, but really good. It's just hated around here for some reason. Go to other forums (particularly ones that aren't dedicated to a "rival") and you'll see that the majority of people love it.

As for the patch though, it has alot of good changes, but I'm not all that excited to play it again.
 
Yeh to bad all those MOD teams that where like "wahhhh hl2 hasnt come out where moving to farcry wahh wahhh" looks like theres only a month inbetween SDK releases and i don't need to tell you which will have the bigger player base ;0

Past singleplayer, this game is near worthless.
 
Far Cry, Far Cry...Hmmm, rings a bell bu- Oh of course, the shiney island game. I remember that.

I would play it more if i could get the textures to work in the sandbox editor...I thought they were, it even looked like grass etc but close up its just that silly red missing texture.
 
yea i bought it and i was very excited when i got home and started playing it. that lasted about a week. I guess i should uninstall it.
 
I got really excited about it too because i had been visiting the ubisoft forum for the game (at this point, HL2.net was down for about a week or two) and everyone there was praising it so i bought it and played it and it was just another game
 
its not that bad. your all such ****in drama queens lol. it had its moments, and ur lying if the trigens didnt scare the shit out of you.
