Far Cry 2 How-to trailer

Crytek can suck it.

The Ubisoft boys are doing a damn fine job with this, even better I heard in an interview that unlike Crysis you won't need a beast of a machine to play this.
A 3 year old computer can play it, 6800s and the like.

I like everything I've seen of far cry 2, including this. Thnx for posting.
It would be cool if they include using animals, like poisened snakes or spiders, or even rampaging elephants as way's to do things.

This is looking real real nice.

Had a huge grin on my face while watching. Really cannot wait for this now, MUST upgrade my computer before it comes out.

Well, the real question is, can a 3 year old computer play it well? There's obviously a world of difference between simply being able to run a game and being able to actually play it in passable FPS.

As for the trailer, looks great.

Hah, looks fairly awesome. I :D'd at the propane tank, thought he was just going to blow it up.

Damn it, need new computer NAAAOUGH.

I'm sure when he said it ran on a 3 year PC the he meant it ran well otherwise it would've never been mentioned, no?

I've had a pretty good sized gaming boner for this one every since I saw this vid a while back.
The whole improv/makeshift stuff really makes me happy.

Erm... no.

It's looking good, but I hope they don't over do it with the so called realism. Randomly jamming weapons is a bit much for my liking.

Wow. That looks great! Crysis killer, by far (for that matter, ****ing BATTLEFIELD 1942 was a Crysis killer...)

Well I played Crysis fine on a P4 3ghz with 1GB ram and an x800... That's probably more than 3/4 years old. Try lower settings...

I can play Crysis fine on low settings but it ends up looking ugly as sin.

Those GameSpot videos just sealed the deal for me. I was pretty much already convinced, but the gameplay just looks very solid, and I'm pretty excited for this one.

One thing that really caught my eye was the car chase that was seen in the night level. It's not often you see completely dynamic AI car chases, especially where the AI completely rides your ass like that. Wonderful.

Looking great, but the only thing bugging me is that weapons are apparently traceline, would be fun if at least sniper rifles had physics based ballistics (with vertical drop-off and delay between firing and impact).

Every time he's wounded he pulls a bullet out of his hand...
Yeah, like he gets shot in the hand every single time? :|
Dumb feature, imo.
And the rate at which weapons degrade is ridiculous.

Also, it's the Savannah and they're not putting in lions and shit? :(

That's obviously going to be changed, eventually.

And the rate at which weapons degrade is ridiculous.

I think it's ok.

Also, it's the Savannah and they're not putting in lions and shit?

They explain why in the gamespot video.

I actually would have liked to see aggressive, carnivorous wildlife, such as lions, but I do understand why they opted to exclude them. Perhaps someone will be able to mod them in? :P

I think I really wanted to see some elephants, but he made no mention of them.

Exactly. I really want Wildlife to be your adversaries as well.

Also, a quote from the preview : "it's really interesting to be in the middle of a gunfight in a town, and have a goat run across the street, really crazy"

:D

Damn, this looks sweet. Just got to find a way to plug a mouse and keyboard into the X360 and I'm good. :p

this just gives me a good reason to get a 360..

Hm, that's cool, though it's probably overpriced and it seems like you need a wired X360 controller, so that's an additional cost for Premium and up.

But it's an option. Would be probably easy to own in FPS' in MP, against players with contollers.

I recently bought an X360 and I haven't played any FPS' on it, that I would've played on a PC beforehand, so I've got a question. Are the difficulty levels on the PC and on the console the same? Cause for example I had problems in CoD4 on the PC in Pripyat in the part near the ferris wheel. I can't imagine how damn hard it would be for me to get through that part with a contoller.

On the part where he shoots the ammo crate....Didn't Mythbusters test this and find that under heat, the bullet simply explodes but doesn't act like a projectile? Or is this what happens in game? I thought i could see tracers coming off.

I thought the justification for not having any deadly wildlife was pretty poor. I think it would be hilarious to have panthers and leopards, they could be programmed to be a small anoyance to the player, and on the other hand provide some interesting AI on AI encounters.

But panthers and leopards aren't small annoyances to people in real life... they kill us D:
And they are aiming for realism so... D:

I watched the gamespot interviews late yestarday (early today actually) and now I'm even more hyped for this game. And I rarely am :)

Though the lady was a bit annoying and had a fail sense of humour. :p
