Well I installed the FC demo last night. I cranked the settings to full to test my computer, since I really haven't had anything too taxing. When I started to play, I noticed something funny. It seems when ever I move my mouse the game seems to lag behind in moving my aim or whatever. I lowered the resolution and AA to see if maybe for some reason that was it (Even though I wasn't getting choppy FPS). That didn't fix it. You can check my system spec's in my sig, and I think they more than qualify for FC. I'm trying to figure out why it is acting like this. I think I've read posts by people on this forum talking about something like this, Mouse lag. Anyone ever heard of these symptoms? Come across and solutions?

Other information that would be helpful in trying to determine this:
I have a Microsoft Optical mouse.
My HD is defragged ALOT through out the day (I'm OCD about it)
I have almost no ram being consumed by extranious programs. (only 10,600K being consumed out of 1 gig of ram).

So from what I can see it's not something to do with my hardware underperforming. Any comments would be appreiciated. TIA

I have the same problem with my ubber fast 3 GHz machine with Radeon 9700Pro. It's not too bad, but I assume it's just bad coding by the Far Cry guys with regards to mouse input. The rest of the game rocks and therefore I forgave the mouse lag situation.

However, it does make me want to play Half Life 2 when it comes out, as the mouse input control is bang on target with the new and old game.

I had the same sort of problem with No One Live Forever 2 and Contract Jack. TBH it wasn't totally awful, just annoying that it felt sluggish. Then again, not everyone has the programming excellence of Gabe or Carmack, now do they?

from wot people have been saying, and from my own personal experience, far cry does not run very well on most peoples computers, or as fast as you would think them too run.
for example my computer is basically the same as urs staddydaddy, p4 2.8ghz 800mhzfsb, 1gig kingston pc3200 ram, 9800pro, but i still get quite a bit of lag with settings at max, but i dont get any mouselag so it could be a few system specific problems, like i get crazy lightning in the water if i put water details on anything except low :(
anyway i dont think its anything you can personally fix, i think its just a far cry thing.

I wish I could cause I cant really place the game. Like while I'm in a fire fight in the game. I like die everytime because i cant control my mouse/ aim properly. Oh well. Maybe I'll post this on the FC forums and see if they know anything.

silly peoploe lol :p

See that "Lazy Weapon" option? Yeah, that makes it so the gun reaches a point before the crosshair and mouse does, or something like that. Adjust it until its fixed to your approval.

Not exactly the "lazy weapon" effect...

I noticed this in Unreal 2 XMP, there is an odd effect you get with some sort of Beta mouse smoothing in the game. It's completely stupid and serves no purpose. But I noticed that if you move the mouse real fast, somehow the game compensates for it by filtering it out for some reason? But, if you move the mouse slow-normal you can rotate almost 360 degrees quickly, faster than you would if you move the mouse real fast.

This same effect almost applies to Far Cry, I haven't noticed it in any other game not even Unreal 2 (non XMP). I can turn the gfx to low, and I still get the "filtered" effect no matter how fast the game is running. It's not too annoying, but it could be changed.
