What do you all think of it? When I watched the engine video i was looking foward to the editor...but it's harder than it looks.

Id love to make maps for FC but all I've made so far is a tiny little island with vegitation and a little pool..but i cant play it because I get these physical material errors.

first of all ive got to say, well done getting the site back up guys! .

Yes those errors occur sometimes, but if you follow the manual in your support directory , there easy to avoid, Ive made a map already, and it works fine. takes some getting used too. I found that in order to test them out in the game, when youve created your TDM mission for example and exported it to the engine. It will only work if you rename the folder its in with no capitals and spaces, and 'mp_' at the start for a multiplayer map.

Must say it would be great to start posting screens of other peoples attempts at islands and perhaps make a few well made ones available to the public on here, or in a similar thread.

thats what the custom map forum is for, my freind.

well... tbh. I hasve only used the editor 1/2 days and I think its a epace of piss. Its proberly one of the easist and straight forward 3d programs I have ever used. The particle system is just like... wow. All the terrain and prefabricated models are like. wow. Its just all around wow. Here are some screen shots of what I managed to make in 1/2 days:

looking good. i saw the bottom one on IRC thismorning. im a n00b to making maps (ive made lots of warcraft 3 maps- with all the triggers and stuff... making demo clips is fun!) but i really want to make some proper maps. the trouble is, i want to make UT2004 maps, but the editor is so hard to use... i might try hammer, thats supposed to be easier.

that looks sweet Ichi :D, ive gone all out on scale and Paradise with my appropriately named 'Kiwi Cove' a multiplayer map im finishing up at the moment,

Muhuhahaha! I love the Snadbox Editor. It is so easy! A big thanks to Pauly (who is on a cruise :() for helping me in tough spots. At the moment I am working on maps for my Golf MOD. If anyone wants to jump on the bandwagon as a modeller/texturer/programmer/mapper, PM me or email me at [email protected]

I am making a map called Tahiji just to get a feel for the editor. Man, it is such a bitch just to get the vegetation to look the way you want it to. It is the first map making tool that I have ever used, and it is still kind of hard.

I'm going to be making a map with another guy soon. It's gonna be an SP map. We're still talking and making plans for it and stuff...but I'm doing the AI and scripted events/cutscene portion.

Good... singleplayer maps are what we really need... what with the multiplayer being...

/me runs outside to the porta-potty
