Personally, I think it's time companies start pushing the DVD format, but I still believe they should release a multi-CD version too.

Yeah. Tribes: Vengeance is going to be DVD and CD's just as Half-Life 2. I think both options should be avaliable as not everyone has a DVD drive. But it is certainly a step in the right direction.

This will be a DVD, as in one disc.

I think DVD is a good thing, don't have one myself in my pc though. Cause I don't watch movies on my pc, and there aren't any other appliances yet for it.
I won't buy one for Far Cry, maybe for HL2. But it's an odd situation, the developers wait for more people to buy DVD players before they release DVD games and the customers wait with buying a DVD player for more developers to release their games on it.

Yeah, I bought my DVD burner awhile back. That's all I have in my computer, does everything I want.. burns CDs, DVDs, plays DVDs and CDs, but still. DVD burners = expensive, DVD-ROM drives = cheap..

i just play DvDs on my PC. i will NEVER buy a video again once DvD recorders come out. cheaper. a lot cheaper. for free. I dont know y ppl dont release DvD versions of games anyway- if it is a new game that has high graphical needs then a PC that can play the game WILL have a dvd player. they are standard issue now
