i was just wondering wather i should get far cry or not,so i thought i would ask all of u if u liked it and why u liked it,and what u dident like about it,also,is the map editor hard to use or is it simmular to hammar or what.
btw i got the demo but it dident work.

I really enjoyed far cry ..I played the demo before release for days, it was that good

played the xbox version last night ...not too bad

Good gameplay, cheesey story/charactars, sometimes frusterating, and REALLY nice graphics/artwork. I would reccommend it, you should be able to get it for around $20-$40 usd now.

realy.....yea.. o....................k
anyway..
what would u guys give it outa 10?

9 up until the monsters arrive ..then it dips to an 8

have u use the editor, coz in my openion, anything that allows u to customize with stuff adds alot more to the game

I did enjoy driving the jeeps at night over montains and hills. Wasn't there a level that required you to travel a long distance? Or was i just ****ing around? Anyway, cruising the beach in a jeep in FPS view was pretty neat. Running people over was fun too.

no, not personally ..the mod scene kinda died down due to a late sdk release

do any of u know where i might be able to veiw some fan videos to give me a better idea of the gameplay.

I liked FarCry much, much more than HL2 or D3. The gun fights were much more enjoyable in my opinion. I liked the freedom to approach an objective in multiple ways. It's not open ended obviously, but you have more choices to make than an on-rails shooter. Throw in stealth aspects and I was sold. I personally liked the monsters. I liked the addition of monsters in RTCW as well.

the official forums have tons of videos ..cant remember the link

the gameplay is great ...some maps are huge and open ended

you should really play the demo ...there's 2 of them, although the first one is the better of the two

fave farcry moment: the hanglider mission ..replayed that tons of times, after I'd kill everyone in the area I'd go to the top of the cliff and dive into the river below ..which seemed like a mile drop

instead of stupid monsters there should have been dinosaurs ;>

It's a great game, gets really hard. I've heard the editor is kind of difficult, but I guess it depends on how you use it.
It's only $20 here in canada right now, just pick it up

I think you should better get yourself a dictionary and some grammar lessons, instead of playing video games. There are full stops and capital letters you know.

Far Cry was nice and it should be at a decent price now, so yeah, i would recommend it.

If you can get it for cheaps, then do. I got mine for about 15 bucks, and boy, was it worth it.

.bog.

and instead of farcry, it should have been named "X-isle"

Far Cry's a very mixed bag with me.

sometimes its great fun, sometimes its just lame. Not to mention it can be horribly unfair sometimes as well. It can also be incredibly easy (Not many people believe me when i tell them that i can run and gun the first few levels of the game without dying). Loved that Boat level though, that was great.

7.5/8 out of 10 for me.

I love the outside levels where the mutants are fighting the soldiers and you can climb up high and high in the bushes and just pick people off

You know the english language has been utterly destroyed when people put not one, but 20 periods within a word.

Far Cry is fun until you get on that island with nothing but monkeys.

I played the xbox version and loved
how diferent is the PC version?

btw I agree too that it should hav been disonaurs, cuz some levels reminded me of jurasic park

I enjoyed it. I played it on hard mode the first time through, as most games are easy to me. I enjoyed the stealth, I enjoyed the big areas. I enjoyed running through the jungle as an attack helecopter chased me, and then losing the helecopter, and sneaking my way through the rest of the map with a few stealthy kills.

Then the monkey monster things arrived.

Oh my god that got annoying SO fast. No more stealth, no more sniping, as if you shoot them in the head with a sniper rifle they still live. I had to run through with a shotgun twitching everytime I saw one because they do a TON of damage... and then the OTHER monsters... the humanoid ones... Especially the "Big Boys"... I stopped playing halfway through because of that. It just got WAY to annoying to play. Actually, I stopped at the part where you get to the facility, and there are those like mini-monster things...

i absolutely loved this game. favorite game of all time for me.

the ability to menouver in huge maps makes it a winner for me.

half life2, doom3, etc all have you going in one direction. this gets old for me.

only other game that is like farcry in this respect is operation flashpoint. that actually might be my favorite game ofall time

Operation Flashpoint shits all over Far Cry. Easily. No competition.

Apparently the Xbox version is much better than the PC version.

multiplayer on instincts is quite fun, especially when you're having a large lan and you have the 'leader' tag on your head, and you're running around in the 'rage' thing clawing at 10 people who are hunting you down.

good times.

The monkey things actually kill you in 1 hit. 2 if you have body armor. Even on normal difficulty.

I'm really interested in Instincts as i've heard that the game in general is everything Far Cry should've been the first time round (Just my opinion). Are there bots with Instincts MP?

What? Where?

The monsters in Far Cry were indeed quite annoying. I prefer to shoot people (don't quote this sentence alone :p).

no bots.

i liked far cry on pc, it didn't feel incomplete at all though, i think the new features and that in instincts would've went in nicely in the game.

i loved it too, was one of the 1st games i got for my new comp last year, looks really great, the levels are huge and you can really try lots of different routes through levels, sometimes its overawing the size of them, the trigens are fook annoying and the difficulty gets pretty extreme at times but nothing beats sniping a merc 100 of yards away from another island...

while it is good it's nothing compared to the pc version ..not as big or open ended ..it's a lot of fun though and feels like far cry

gamespot said that
and well form waht I read of the PC look like is not so fast pased like instincts cuz instincts even if it was stealth and all it was a fast pased game but whit cool situations and stuff, also the feral abilities

also the storyline of instincts is that jack carver is like a contrabandist who bring some girl caled val to a island and when the girl go to investigate the place in a waterbike, jack take a nap and when he wakes up there is a lot of helicopters around and destroy the boat and you swing to the island and you get involded in all the thing and you know, kinda like half-life
