I have dial-up, I live in such a rural area that the most anyone has ever downloaded out here is 6KB/s, I usually average out at 3.5KB/s.

I just got news today that I can have wireless internet FINALLY installed out here, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it, it costs about $70 in total per month after taxes and all that.

At my old house I used to online-game ALOT (cable), it was fun, but I don't do it anymore, because of dial-up. I'd like to hook up my XBOX Live and give it a whirl with my 360, but I used to just PC-online-game.

It says it downloads at about 750KB/s - 1MB/s, is that fast enough for online gaming and XBOX 360 Live?

If it's not even fast enough for XBOX 360 Live, then I won't get it, not worth $70 per month...

I would think it would be fast enough. I don't use Xbox live though.

Any restriction for data downloaded per month?

Wireless internet? As in satellite internet?

If you mean satellite, it may be fast but your latency and upload speeds will be absolutely awful.

^ still beats dial up

where do you live exactly?
is it the new wireless internet that spans over 40miles or sattilite?

For gaming, I'd take 4kb/s and 200ms latency over 50kb/s and 1500ms latency.

Agreed

Also could be wireless using line of sight with a transmitter on towers or grain elevators as a source.

I got a tower (visible from my back-door) about a mile from my house.

Yes it's satellite.

My limit per month would be 10GB.

Upload speeds are I think 20kb/s.

I've also learned that a friend who lives in the same area got it, and it only goes about 50-60kb/s...

Is that 50-60KB/s (Bytes) or 50-60 Kb/s (bits)?
Basically are we talking download speed or connection bandwidth.

50-60KB/s, like how I download 4 per sec, he downloads 50-60.

Dial-up is like $30 per month for us here. And the new internet would be $70 per month.
