I had the same problem about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Here's what you can do:
1) Backup all your stuff, then delete the sdk (right click on it in play games...delete local content) then delete the sourcesdk directory. This is what I did and it worked.
2) Much easier way is to validate the sdk cache files. Do this by clicking on this link with steam open: steam://validate/211

Good luck bro

Well number two..the steam validate thing that didnt work

so about number one which files do i backup?...and do i put them back in?...cause i didnt even get a chance to start making maps..it does that on the first time i open it.

If you haven't made any maps or anything then you don't have to backup anything. Just delete the whole sourcesdk directory it's in your steamid directory (i.e. where the halflife2 and counterstrike source directories are)

alright....i did the delete sdk thing twice ...once where i went to delete game content then deleted the rest of the files....thei i just deteled the whole file...either of them work...so now i deleted and doing the validate....if this doesnt work there is seriously no hope for me to be making maps... :|

nope....nothing ....this is ****ing pissing me off so bad...i could kill it.
:flame: :flame:

Sorry dude that's what I did and it worked for me. I'm all out of ideas.
