fatal error in source sdk

ok because i am an idiot i tried reinstalling half life 2 to fix some problems i was having with it. yeah it works the same way it did before. CS source works too. thats all good and great. however i am trying to reinstall source sdk and it WILL NOT work for the life of me. I downloaded it and stuff - acutally i tried downloading it 3 times (takes maybe 1-2 hours). I try to open hammer and a little dialog box says - Fatal Error: MountFilesystem(242)failed: SteamMountFilesystem(3204,242,0x9afbfc=,0x90afd0c) failed with error 114: Cache needs decryption. What the hell does that mean? I try to open the other progs on the list and i get the same problem. I need help.

Cache needs decryption? I did a search on google and found this:

Essentially you need to run HL2 first.

ah. i didnt know it mattered if you ran it before or after you download sdk. i ran all my games after the download and went back to sdk....works fine. thanks man.
