Story:

Despite massive amounts of financial aid from western countries, the Russian budgetary deficit continues to mount. Social services like education, healthcare and even basic needs like sewage filtration and clean water continue to deteriorate due to lack of funding. Inflation is at a 15 year high, and the under funded military while still quite massive is unable to effectively provide much more than basic police services. The Civilian population is growing increasingly unhappy and unrest is higher than it has been in over 50 years. Russians do not trust there current government to do what is needed to fix things, either. Many Russians were turning to somewhat radical political parties who were promising to change things. While it is unlikely any of these groups were trying to accomplish anything but increase there own political power. None the less they represented a glimmer of hope.

One party for unknown reasons had begun to gain support quickly, the New Era Militarist Party. They were one of the more radical groups and at first very small in number. Over a period of two years, the NEM began to gain power within the Kremlin by legally electing officials into office. In December of 2008, a group of insurgents associated with NEM raided the Kremlin. The party staged a coup and overthrew the current government in Moscow and the majority of the national government.

Approximately four years later, U.S. spy satellites confirmed that the Militarist government had amassed several large formations of troops on their western border. In fear of immanent war, the Chinese went to the U.N. and NATO asking for help if war should break out. Within two weeks, the vote passed unanimously in the UN and NATO to declare war on the NEM if they crossed into Chinese territory. As a precautionary measure the allied military presence was strengthened on the Chinese border with Russia. On April 14th, 2011 the NEM crossed on to Chinese soil.

Fate of Existence is a new modification, but it could easily grow. I am looking for help, specifically a co-leader to get Fate of Existence off the ground and be true. There are like 1000000 of these mods, try to come up with something a litt0l more original...
 
This is what i did when i saw the post:

read the first sentance, stoped around the "Despite massive amounts of financial aid from western countries, blah blah" part. I looked through the rest of the post, saw several military stuff. Stoped. Made a search on "Realistic". Got 3 hits, but i should have got 4 if you havent misspelled one. To sum it up... Change idea, its too unoriginal and boring.

Try to come up with something that havent been done before.

Too many of these bland bland bland mods.

Come back when you have a decent idea.
 
Gonna be agreeing with St9lve, badger and Maj here. This is just another example of an unoriginal mod idea.

nice idea but how do you propose to make this work when a source map from A to Z is still quite small, a jet would cross the space on a source map in a second

hmm, has been done, but haven't seen it done well, yet.

No different from just picking up weapons you want and leaving those you don't want really. And its a lot like CS

What though, there's no details about this. They could all just be variations of capture the flag/dog/person/apple or deathmatch or AvP skirmish. Come up with unique and original game styles, UT2k4 did and people love Onslaught and Assault. DOTD is gonna have a survival counter which will go a long way to making that game even more enjoyable.

Ahh, well the entity limits in Source are gonna cut these idea's short. If your expecting FarCry type maps with tons of plants, tree's, grass. Then you may aswell switch to FarCry, because Source is gonna struggle doing this, especially in multiplayer mode where the limits are even greater. It's also not really a feature either, their just locations, something you'd have to have anyway.

Ahhh, the vehicles. Yes I'm afraid Source and UT2k4 are going to have a lot to answer for with these little puppies. Quake made a mockery of online gaming being nothing more than mindless point and shoot. the countless CG artists did the same with lensflare's being overused in pre-rendered art. And these two are gonna turn the use of vehicles into yet another gimmick. Anyone making a mod is going to add vehicles, only a very small percentage will actually use them in a convincing way. Eg: Dawn of the Dead mod. If he stays faithful to the movie, the only vehicles will be a car in the mall and some trucks, yes the player will probably be able to drive around and run over zombies (stunning them not killing them) but their real purpose will be explained in the storyline, trucks for blocking the doors, the car for getting from A to B and making life easier during that part of the game. He isn't putting them in for the hell of it, he's putting them in because they have a solid purpose.

This isn't really a feature, is a claim, and can't be proved until the mod is completed

Realistic Accuracy System.
oops, there we go with the realistic again (you can tell I've been writing this from the bottom up heh) So realistic accuracy then, That would mean no crosshair, arching, actual projectiles (bullets) which would involve quite a bit of coding as Source, HL2 and HL1 just used a much simpler method where the shot happens the moment you press fire. A more realistic system, as I believe Gabe said, would harm online play due to the amount of lag caused by keeping tabs on hundreds or more bullets at any given time during a firefight. Many gamers wont even notice the difference, except complain there is no crosshair, seems many don't like iron sights because its too hard for them.

Realistic Ballistics System; See fierce explosions all over the battlefield.
Seeing something blow up doesn't make it realistic. Again this is an abuse of the word realistic, when its not. It's simply lying to the gamers, making them think it will have things it can't possibly have.

Realitic Damage System.
So if your shot in the arm you can't do an awful lot with it, and if your shot in the head your dead, if your shot in the leg you'll end up crawling around the map, all the time losing blood and becoming colder, possibly going into shock, so on and so forth, right? No? hitboxes aren't realistic, unless you give it a realistic damage system, don't call it realistic, its abusing the term.

Realistic weather effects; Rain, Lighting, and other effects.
It's not realistic though is it. For realistic you would have to have the gradual buildup of water from rain in pools etc. So its not realistic, and shouldn't be called that. Also weather effects are nothing new, neither is snow, wind, lightning, clouds, bad hair days.

Not unique, its an old idea, been done many times, put a twist on it if you want it to be worthwhile and original

Not really unique, most mods/games have this



Some tips

1) don't open a site until you have a game 50% completed, though feel free to reg a domain if you want to protect it

2) don't open forums ASAP. They just give the gamers the idea that your going to use their idea's, and not all gamers have good idea's, infact they have some of the worst going. So if you must have a forum, make it clear the general public has no say in your mod

3) no untextured weapon renders, people are getting sick of them. Did you know almost every mod for Source right at this moment have little more than untextured weapons to show for "all their work"
