Pretty straightforward -- pick your favorite dinosaur! (and post why)

Hopefully I got all the major species/groups covered. Big herbivores, little herbivores, big carnivores, little carnivores, egg eaters, scavengers, flying dinosaurs, swimming dinosaurs, dinosaurs with spikes and horns and plated armor :).

My favorite was always Apatosaurus. Those must've been amazing beautiful creatures, and it would've been cool to ride one. Also, it was so big that it didn't have to take crap from anyone, just turn around and swing its tail at other dinosaurs, or stomp on them.

Velociraptor, it has good speed, nice long and sharp claws, and it's an awesome predator..

Plus it digs it's claws into it's downed prey - that's the coolest.

diplodocus....I did a report on him in Elementry school...probaby about 4th grade. Ever since than, I've had that bastard in my mind....DAMN YOU SCHOOL!...

If they named dinosaurs kewl things like "bunny" or "llama" i just might have a favorite, but remembering things like "Apatosaurus" is too much ****ing work

They're all extinct, so they all suck.

:O Blasphemy! Dinosaurs are awesome ;(. Besides, have you never read Jurassic Park. One day, we'll bring them back! By extracting the blood of insects.. that sucked the blood of dinosaurs! :P

Velociraptors, they rock, all the way, they're fast, deadly, agile and smart, what other dinosaurs could you need?

Any of the dromaeosauridae: velociraptors, deinonychus, utahraptor, and more birdlike members of the family like achillobator and rahonavis. Swift, fast, deadly.

They are Ostrich-sized.
According to that documentary Jurassic Park, yes.
In real life, Llama's right. It had relatives which were much larger and more like the ones in the film like Deinonychus .
As a kid I was obsessed with dinosaurs, so I know my shit.
I'm cool

My favourites are Dilophosaurus (also in JP, but much bigger than that and also probably not able to spit venom - God, I'm such a pedatic killjoy) and Baryonyx.

Like I said - I'm cool.

Aren't most kids obsessed with dinosaurs? I know I was. I think it's one of those requirements for being a male child, you must either like space or dinosaurs.

I still have a very soft spot for them. A week or two ago, I watched Jurassic Park and the Lonst World within a few days of one another and went to visit the new dinosaur exhibition at the Natural History museum.

It's a rollercoaster ride, being me. Gah.

Heh, I was just watching JP1 and 3 in the past few weeks too. They've been playing them almost nonstop on the TNT channel, in between solid 12-hour blocks of Law and Order.

And me too man, I'll always like dinosaurs. They're just really interesting, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because they're big lizards, or because they're not here anymore, or because they ruled the planet and were such a key part of the way life formed at that time.

I like the vegetarian dudes with the long necks, they're big and cute. You missed Davo's mum off the list though, i'd have voted for her.

apatasaurus, brachiosaurus, and diplodocus are all different dinosaurs. Pterosaurs and plesiosaurs aren't dinosaurs at all.

Sorry, dinosaur-nitpicker, I am.

Hadrosaur, cause the name sounds spanish.

And it looks like it's got a penis on its forehead.

dinosaurs are a lie......congress made them up

Probably the T-rex or the Velociraptor (deinosaurus?).
T-rez is just huge and gobbles everything up :D
Raptors are like fast and gobble everything up :P

What were the huge ones with long necks that lived in the sea called? I always thought they were cool. Terradactyl are pretty neat too.

Ever play jurassic park on the playstation 1? God that game ****ing owned...

Wrong.

Anyway, moving along...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't want to say anything - I felt I'd already been too pedantic as it was :)

The Allosaurus was my favorite dinosaur.

This thing is a smaller version of the T-Rex, measuring about 15ft tall. You can tell it apart from the Rex because it sports horns around its eyes. One of the more interesting features is it's very light for its size, allowing it travel at quick speeds and, like the raptors, jump onto its prey!

I also think its skeleton more photogenic than the T-Rex. :P

...although I do admit, the Rex has a much more menacing head.

This is also one tough SOB, as there is recent evidence that this species may have survived the mass extinction.

What evidence is this? It doesn't say on the wiki entry - sounds intriguing though.
