Corollary to "Uzi or shotgun?":

What's your favorite Tier-2 weapon?

In areas where you have a far draw-distance, usually in an outside area, I wield the assault rifle.
In smaller areas, I fancy the auto-shotgun. Also, it comes handy whenever a Tank rears its massive biceps.
Overall, I'd probably say it's the assault rifle.

Assault rifle. For the same reason I prefer uzi over shotgun, plus it feels nicer than the hunting rifle.

I love sniping zombies and seeing their heads go boom. Plus, I dislike the zooming of the Hunting Rifle.

I think people underestimate the power of the Hunting Rifle.

I'll have to go with the autoshotty. Nothing beats blasting through an entire horde in seconds, sending 3-4 infected airborne with each shot.

Of course I still love using the hunting rifle in more open areas.

It depends on the situation. I like the automatic rifle in normal scenarios, but if a Tank is around and we are by weapons I'll grab the autoshotgun.

I try to keep it balanced among the team.

I find myself using the auto-shotgun most, but if everyone else has one I'll pick up an assault rifle. I love sniping though, and whenever my teammates have a mix of the other types I instantly grab the hunting rifle.

Hunting rifle + double pistols = win

I love the Hunting Rifle, although it usually depends on the map.

The AutoShotty is fun I will admit, but I just love the power from the Hunting Rifle, blowing limbs and heads clear off.

Hunting rifle is easily the best of them... but I enjoy the assault rifle and auto shottie just as much. I really can't decide on one.

I play hunting rifle when i'm with a good team, otherwise nothing beats clearing an entire hallway all by yourself with the auto shotty.

Toss up between the Hunting Rifle and Auto-Shotgun. Depends in part on what map and who I'm playing with.

It depends on the team and environment. If it's mainly an open environment such as Blood Harvest,i use the Uzi or M16. However,if i am taking the lead or the campaign is mainly consisted of closed areas such as No Mercy, then i go for a Shotty. I rarely find myself using the Sniper Rifle. Besides its range and stopping power,it's quite useless to me when multiple enemies are around. Which is 90% of the time.

They all have their uses, the autoshotty is good for when ur moving through buildings, or in small waves, but with the wide spaces of most of the finalies, I find the M16 far more useful, also the autoshotty's reload means u have to be constantly pumping shells into that poor thing between every shot.

M16 is definitely most versatile.
Which is why I love it :)

That and it's potential for perfect accuracy, the high rewards for headshots and it's quick reloading.

Many teammates have been saved by my rifle's mid-range awesomeness and many Tanks stopped in their tracks after receiving clips to the head.

I still enjoy the other weapons but I'm inconsistant with the Hunting Rifle and I find the reloading of the Auto-shotty annoying.

The M16 is always dealy, but I prfer the shotgun. The sniper is too situational.

I actually found a good use for the Hunting Rifle. It helps to take out a large amount of zombies without drawing them towards you; you headshot each and every one of them.

You can do that with the assault rifle too almost every time if you crouch and have decent aim.

M16's surely the best pick for any given situation, but I usually pick the hunting rifle as long as no-one else decides to pick one. Really satisfying to use, and is surprisingly good in a lot of situations. Even when you're looking a horde of infected charging your way, the hunting rifles unlimited penetration basically means you can put down three or four infected in a single shot. And if someone goes down and gets swarmed you can literally take out the entire horde in a couple of well-placed shots.

The only time you're at a real disadvantage is when you're the sole survivor left, then oncoming hordes can be an issue when you're the only one still shooting.

Assault rifle really, good damage, great accuracy, fast reload, and not terrible at a swarm charge, it seems to drop zombo's fast enough.

Cant say the shotty is too great, its only really useful if your getting swamped and even then its reload is terrible.

Only used the hunting rifle once, really not my thing, the zombies don't have guns so really its only useful if a team-mate is getting dragged away by a smoker and everyone else is busy, but then an assault rifle properly aimed will do the trick.

Assault Rifle is the best against Tanks. It's powerful enough, and you can take them out from a distance. The only way a Tank can hit you is if you aren't fast enough, get knocked down by zombies, or if a teammate attacks you.

Otherwise, all it can do is throw rocks at you.

Shotgun most of the time but I really like to use the hunting rifle, too. I don't like the assault rifle.

The M16 is the best all-around weapon, imo, with good damage and accuracy. It's ability to headshot entire hordes is amazing. The autoshotty is the ruler in close quarters, but fairly useless at long range (I tend to wait until they're within 40 ft before i fire). A single center mass shot will kill any common infected, and unleashing into a horde is devastating. It's awesome to watch three or four infected fly backwards as you just pummel the crowd. But you have to manage your ammo better, as it takes longer to reload, and you can blaze through 128 shells pretty quick.

The hunting rifle is very deadly at long range, but you almost never want more than one on your team. It's best for taking out bosses from a distance and clearing the way. It is nearly useless in a horde situation where you are encircled.

I find the most common weapon combos are 2xM16, 2xautoshotty or 2xM16, 1xAutoshotty, 1xRifle.

auto-shotty ftmfw. Rifle is good for ranged stuff and sniper is good for certain levels.

Auto-shotgun wins this one I think.

It has best crowd control and best damage output vs. Witches and Tanks - not to mention incremental reload.

Hunting rifle rivals it in damage to Tanks and Witches, but it's less practical to stay zoomed in while fighting either of them. Also, the reload feels really long on the hunting rifle.

Really depends upon how good the person is with it, one shot kills and bullet penetration shouldn't be underestimated in the right hands.

The auto-shotty can take out 3-5 zombies in one shell when they're rushing at you. If you get to a decent choke point you can easily take an entire horde rush on without a scratch and without wasting a ton of rounds.

Not to mention you can fire it on the run without having terrible accuracy.

I'm not good with it but I've seen some people who are awesome with it, charging mid-long range Infected/Bosses don't stand a chance and a couple of us with the Auto-shotty covering close range makes for a great team, even on Expert.

The auto shotty is great for crouching at the front. It's also great for taking out multiple zombies at once, but i've had times where i've been completely overwhelmed by zombies if i've been puked on by a Boomer during a horde (mercy hospital --> elevator, is a great example) and i've died due to slow reloads.

The carbine is definitely my preferred weapon for hordes simply because it can reload in the time it takes me to whack the zombies back.

I basically pick up whatever the team is lacking.

Pretty much always the auto-shotty for me.

I love CQC.

Auto-shotgun = awesome. I never really use the hunting rifle, if I want a change I'll use the M16
