What's your favourite multiplayer game? In my opinion both CS:Source and HL2:DM suck badly, I mean it's the same frag/die/respawn/frag/die/respawn sequence again and again and again, the gameplay is sooooo monotonous. My personal fave is Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, because it has the most fun and varied gameplay out of all the games i've played.

I love cs 1.6, cs:s, and HL2DM(especially DM_Resistance), apart from that I love UT2k4, but this my sound somewhat premature and wierd coming fro me, but BF2 demo is right now by far my favoriete, I didn't like the previous BF's but this one blew me away.

See my sig :D True Combat

It's like CS but I think it's much better, and it's free!

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory online multiplayer is fun! Great way for me to waste my time. Half-Life 2 DM is fun too, but SCCT gets my vote.

Battlefield 2 is shaping up to be the best multiplayer game I have ever played...

Battlefield 2 is a very memorable 'high number' multiplayer game. There are games I enjoy more with fewer players, but this one is up at the top of the list for 32 and 64 player games.

Both Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch.

CnC Generals: Zero Hour
I like this Air Force general ...

And of course: HL2 DM and CS: S !!!

C&C Generals, All the CS Games, but I only play CS:Source now, Warcraft 3, Farcry, HL2DM. I think my favorite is CS:Source! Really getting into BF2 after playing the demo though :)

WoW. My opinion on BF2 is limited because i get kicked everytime i enter a server so i have'nt actually played multiplayer but if its anything like the previous ones it'll die off very soon and the novelty will be...,zero.

I'd have to say...

Teamplay - Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Deathmatch - Quake3Arena\Doom3\Painkiller
CTF - UT2004\Doom3

CS Source is sometimes fun though alot of the times not, HL2DM is utter crap with games like Doom3 and Painkiller for modern DM.

And, how can you BF2 guys like the game, when only a very small portion of the entire game has been released? You can't truly judge something until you have all of it, but that's just my opinion. Sorry about the rant.

Multi Theft Auto (GTA Online Mod) when it comes to games.

I mostly play "The Specialists" mod during my free time though.

I was very impressed with the bf2 demo.
Playing as a foot soldier is actually fun and it requires a lot of teamwork now.

The original Worms :)

I'm playing tonight in a regular thursdays league. As of last week i'm top of the table with the best worm difference \o/

Yay :)

(honourable mention to Bomberman, SF2 and RTCW/ET)

splinter cell ct online, bf2, hostile intent i enjoyed for quite a while, jaykin bacon was fun for a bit too, dod i used to love even know i was crap but i've gone off now, original ut was amazing for its time and halo online i used to love

I have played A LOT of multiplayer games, but for some reason Halo 2 is up there. It wasn't the greatest game ever, but the competition is what made it so fun. Tribes 2 was a lot of fun too (IMO the best of the 3 as it was the only one to focus more on defense, and that is all I played). Desert Combat was a lot of fun, but Battlefield 2 is better than it in ever way.

I call fanboy shennanigans! BF2 isn't even out yet. I would expect "favorite multiplayer game" to be limited to games that have been released.

UT2004, Soldat, CS:S, Quake 3, Serious Sam co-op, in no particular order. And a smattering of CS over the last 5 years. Mostly due to the amount my friends and I have played them at LAN parties. And Worms 2/Armageddon.

That's PC games anyway. If I were to take Warbie's cue, I'd put Smash Bros Melee and Super Bomberman on that list as well. And Goldeneye. Damn, I can't decide which is best!

My friend, a rabid Tribes fan, was reading over my shoulder and said "Burn him!" when he saw Foxtrot's post about Tribes 2.

It's not fanboy shennanigans all around....I for one HATED battlefield...i bought on faith and traded it back in 2 days later, but I loooooooove the BF2 demo, and right now it's the ONLY multiplayer game I'm playing, so yeah, it is possible for a demo to be my "favourite multiplayer game"

That is because your friend never played in clan matches ;)
It is a lot different in Tribes 1 compared to 2, in 1 clan matches were pretty much who could cap flags the fastest, and in Tribes 2 it was who could stop the enemy from capping the flag more often, and still be able to get away with the enemies flag, a very nice balance between defence and offence, although my only complaint is that the heavy armor class was only viable for offense which is pretty lame.

When you could actually play online with 56k, my choice would be Starsiege Tribes (The first one). Never had so much fun playing a game since. I imagine I am missing out on alot though.

UT2004. Though to be perfectly honest, I hope for UT2007 they put an option in to find servers without players who are forcing the display of the same model (gorge in 99% of cases - you always know you're playing them because they're using the gorge skin). I can imagine the filtering tick-box being tagged "Find me a server without any eliteist arseholes".

I dabble in CS:S occasionally and wonder what the fuss is about. I usually play it when I have homework to do and my studies don't suffer. Go figure. Play some HL2DM for a quick blast, but it's so unrefined that it's impossible to play it for too long. Plus the sprint key will be a direct cause of the onset of arthiritis.

Original c&c
Red Alert 1

Natural Selection
Hldm, CS
Cs: Source
Battlefield 1942
Starcraft
WOW

Wolfenstien ET is my all time favorite (I hope Quake Wars will be good, but it looks more like Battlefield than ET, with the vehicles and the large open spaces) but I played it so much it's not the same anymore. Myabe I will play it again soon. Then DoD which I will play a lot more when the Source version comes out and NS which I haven't played in a while because... well I don't know, that's something else I will have to revisit. Right now Battlefield 2 is the main game I play.

I remember playing that on my 56k, I was so jealous of the people with DSL or cable because they could use the sniper rifle and make mid-air disc shots. I also remember the day I made a MA shot :D

With friends - C%C, Worms, DoA. Games you can insult each other while playing.
With Onlineness - Battlefield 2 demo, Counter strike, World of Warcraft.

Call of Duty + UO Expack, Starsiege Tribes, UT2k4, Day of Defeat, BF2(I guess...game still runs a bit choppy every now and then, but when it's running smooth? Best mp game ever.), and Star Wars Battlefront.

GoldenEye 64

Nothing competes with it. Not even BF2 or WoW
