FEAR is laggin big time on my pc

Just bought FEAR for my new computer but its lagging big time.

I have a 512mb graphics card, 2gb ram and 3800+ 64 dual core cpu.

Can anyone help?

I'd recommend downloading the AMD Cool&Quite driver too (make sure you get the right one for your OS). It isn't related to the lag but if you are getting the optimizer you might as well.

what does it do exactly? Cools the processor and makes it quiet?

If you have it enabled in the bios it will regulate the CPU speed and voltage. But I've read it does more than that. Plus a lot of install guides/tips for the dual core hotfix say to install the AMD driver (Cool&Quiet) first.
