Hi

brought a copy of the half life 2 episode pack Wednesday and haven`t been able to play ep2 yet.
Already got half life 2 installed with CS:Source which work fine, installed EP1 and EP2 onto the drive with no problems, already played EP1 so only really wanted to play EP2 but can`t because everytime i go and launch the game thru steam or desktop shortcut it comes up with the game is currently unavailable error, please try again which i have done!
Tried the deleting clientregistry.blob thing, alwell as deleting steam.dll & steamUI.dll with no luck just updates steam and tells me all my games are 100% ready.
Also tried deleting EP1 & EP2 and re-installing with no luck.
HL2, CSS, HL2:Dm & EP1 all work ok, just the game i want to play won`t load :frown:

Any ideas guys?

The first time people run Steam appears to be a little rough, but once it's caught up with updating and all, it's quite nice. I don't have any advice though, but don't give up on it yet - it's a good piece of software.

Whatever you do, don't even bother with the Steam FAQ it is so rubbish you'll just get angry, your best bet is to find as many forums that are based around communities of Steam Game players and ask this question all over, it worked for me, but with a different question, sorry...

A stupid thing that works for some problems is the following:

Open steam
_
_

File
_
_

Settings
_
_

In game
_
_

Uncheck the box that says something about acessing Steam community in game
_
_

Restart Steam
_
_

Try the game again.
