So I got my graphics tablet just over a week ago now and for doing rudementary stuff I've found it very good to say the least. I'm just getting into sketching with it now and I've noticed 1 thing (see attached)... when I try to do fluidic shapes i.e. circles I get spilkes not matter how smooth I do them.

I have no idea what this is, but its really annoying and I was wondering if there was any cure anyone was aware of? (fenric mentioned that maybe a USB hub would improve perfomance, but does not having one cause stuff like this?).

The tablet is a Wacom Volito.

Alright, so I finally got Pen Mode working in Photoshop. While experimenting, I came across something interesting. I was able to produce smooth, flowing lines only when I went slowly. Quickly drawing flowing lines led to what I see in the picture you attached -- this phenomenon seemed to occur in increasing quantities the faster I went.

Just some insight.

If you are in photoshop, double check to see that the grid isn't on snap mode. Other than that, maybe check for a refresh rate or something? I don't know much about tablets...

in photoshop 7 in the brush option thingy, there is a checkbox called smooth. enable that.
