I must of made a thread like this a few times now but what the hell, one more time. :D

Where is everyone off to this year? Who's playing, when is it, other such details, etc...

I'd quite like to hit Download again as I've not been since '06 and although it's usually 15 bands out of a hundred plus that are only worth watching, it has a fantastic atmosphere, so we'll see. So far the line up is looking a little lackluster but it's always the same every year when it comes to announcements - give it a few more weeks and it'll perk up.

I think a must for me is going to be Supersonic in Birmingham on the 11th til 13th of July. Mogwai headlined last year and pretty much totalled my ears for a good week, and this year it's Battles. :D Alongside them is the ground-shakingly awesome Earth with Oxbow and THRONES in tow. It's gonna be fethin' good! Though painful to the ears, natch.

I'e yet to make a Reading festival, which is a shame considering how good the line up is every damn year, so I wouldn't mind going this year. The problem is is getting people to go with - all my mates are off to pishy V to watch The Verve and... well, whoever else is playing. Who cares, actually. Still, Kings of Leon would be worth a watch, doing a headliner slot no less, and Hot Chip, too, but I bet they'll both be doing Reading.

T in the Park looks pretty stonking. Or... did, anyway, as I believe the announcement of Rage Against the Machine pretty much ensured that there would be no more tickets left right from the first five minutes. Aphex Twin, too. Damn.

Deffo going to try and make it to an All Tomorrows Parties at some point as well.

What about you?

EDIT: Too much fantastic me thinks. Mmmfhph.

Reckon I can make T in the Park, I got crew in Scotland. As for Reading, I may already be committed to a 3-day airsoft orgy. We shall see.

I hear one can donate sperm to secure tickets these days? That seems like a good deal; I have plenty to spare.

Festivals in the US are slightly more complicated because there's a lot more distance between them involved :p I'm not planning on any this year, just the Radiohead show in May. I'd like to go to Pitchfork at some point though and I'm heading to Bonnaroo next year (my brother is going this year but I was disappointed with the lineup).

Download this year is looking abit dire but I'd love to go again for the atmosphere and general experience! Reading however... RATM! Gonna try and get tickets so hard for that, god damn.

Pitchfork do festivals?

/google.

!!! and Boris... not bad, not bad, I guess ATP is the equivalent over here, though looking back over previous lineups ATP has had far better line ups. :P Although saying that this deal with the ATP vs Pitchfork looks pretty 'wut' except for Of Montreal. I swear I saw Hot Chip on the line up a second ago but I can't find the ad anymore and the website poster doesn't mention them.

Just looking around all the ATP stuff now though... shit, Explosions in the Sky with Broken Social Scene and ...And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead in May, how'd I not know about this? I'm there.

G0DDAMNIT. A Silver Mt. Zion in London in April. WHY DOES NO ONE TELL ME THESE THINGS?!

What? What? Where? When?

Shall we meet?
I love ASMZ (tra la la blah blah blah); it'd be a shame to miss 'em.
Last time I thought I was going to a Godspeed concert; then I found it it was actually last year.

lol, that's like when I checked the NIN website last year to see if there were any new North America tour dates, saw one a city away and got extremely excited before noticing that it was on the same date as the concert I had gone to a year before... and then realizing it WAS the concert I'd gone to a year before. Ennui sadface.

I have holidays till 26 April. SCORE.

I'll get you.

Battles are playing on the 14th of May as well (Wednesday) which I should have tickets booked for by a mate. That's going to be insane.

God, I would LOVE to see Battles live.

But... Wadiohead!

Stupid Wadiohead and how they never ever come to NZ.

Just under 3 months until the Wadiohead show here ;) I'll be sitting on the lawn smoking joints and probably alternately crying and ejaculating every time they play another song

F*CK YOU, YOU F*CKING F*CKER.

I am so insanely jealouse.

They have some serious competition in my "Best Shows Ever" category though, going up against Nine Inch Nails (the current prizewinner in that regard), Tool, El-P, and Galactic, all of whom are insanely awesome live.

Yeah... On a side note, Pendulum Live are coming to Auckland... And it's R18.

F*ck.

Don't think i'll make any this year, just not been that fussed about live music since leeds, dunno why..

ATPs have interested me, almost got to go to the mars volta one but it was on an awkward date :(

I am jealous of you folks who get to see ASMZ live. I've seen a few live videos and their concerts look amazing. They are not coming anywhere near Texas. Hardly anyone I care to see is, and whenever they do, nobody I know cares to go with me. Even Explosions in the Sky have left Texas off their tour. How could they?? They're from here! Argh. :P

Anyways, I've never been to a festival before. So darn expensive. I probably should go to an ACL sometime.

Seeing A Silver Mt. Zion will be so breathtaking, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like but as much as I hate using this word, it's going to be the definition of epic.

Ring Them Bells (Freedom Has Come And Gone) live... oh, god.

Been to Reading 06 and 07 and a couple of small festivals. Greatly looking forward to Reading 08. It will be ****ing insane.

Me and a small group of friends are planning to go to Lollapalooza in Chicago this year. Radiohead and NIN will be headlining the three day festival.

I would very much like to go to Download this year (just wish i could have gone last year, especially with Iron Maiden, My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park headlining but unfortunately I couldn't make it there) and see The Offspring and Lostprophets headlining. HIM are also playing, which is a plus!
I also wish I could to the Taste of Chaos festival in America this year. Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold are headlining that!!!

Christ. I'd like to be there.

I'm going to Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop, two Flemish festivals.

Exit festival in Serbia maybe, if i can get some cash together

For the ASMZ fans, thought you might be interested in this:
http://nearworlds.org/media/shows/?M=D
It's a recording of a recent show (not my taping, obviously). They play a couple of new songs (and by "new", I mean newer than the songs on 13 Blues for 13 Moons), and an incredible version of Microphones in the Trees.

It seems that John Butler is finally comming to portugal, so there goes Metallica for me this year. No matter, as I have seen Metallica last year and they gave a hell of a show.

So this year, if everything goes right, I'll be seeing Slayer and Iron Maiden same day, same festival, and a few days later I'll be seeing the John Butler Trio (if he confirms) and apparently Bob Dylan. Later I'll be going on some of those festivals were people camp, and Ill be seeing Sex Pistols in one of them.

Also, I'll be seeing Asia in April it seems, so this year is being really good, it's just a shame that I'll problably not gonna be able to see Metallica again :\ ah well

Mad bump but is anyone here going to any All Tomorrows Parties this year, either in America or England?

I've just discovered that this years Nightmare Before Christmas festival at Minehead is going to curated by the one and only MIKE ****in' PATTON. So far confirmed are The Melvins (!), ISIS (!!!!), Big Business (!!!), Dalek, Zu and FANTOMAS playing all of The Director's Cut live.

I am so ****ing hyped right now, its not even funny. 5th, 6th and 7th of December at the Butlins camp in Minehead. My 19th birthday and ISIS and Mike Patton. Wow. Holy shit.

Trafford Cricket ground here in manchester to see Radiohead and then V Fest later on to the mighty MUSE. Also playing a small 3000 capacity festival myself with my band in August which should be fun.

SO I GOT TICKETS

GOOD END

A mate of mine just saw RATM in Madrid at the Electric Festival or something or another. He said they were outstanding.

Oh well, I'm not fussed anymore. Everything else pales in comparison to Isis, Melvins and Big Business in December at ATP. Holy shit.
