Few quick probs

1) When putting cl_updaterate 101 and cl_cmdrate 101 it 'judders'.
2) It's started juddering for no reason.
3) Why cant u jump on barrels?
4) weird pause after throwing a gun.

bet sum r bugs but any ideas?

chris20, yes i noticed that in the beta too. try the command cl_smooth 0. It works for some but i dunno about at 101,101 rates.

you cant jump on barrels becuase it would cause lag due to all the physics data. its the reason u bounce off server side physics objects. Its not like that in hl2 its just a limitation of online multiplayer.

Another thing, my config is NOT read only but i get th warning in console "not read only: cannot write" or something like that.

i said IF I WANTED TO GET FLAMED I WOULD ITS A CRAPPY ATI CARD WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT I DONT SO I DIDNT

I know you weren't serious when you said the above about his graphics card, but honestly, the 9800 Pro is a wonderful card for playing CS:S and HL2. Hell my lowly 9600XT doesn't have a problem playing it either! Any of the 9600 XT/Pro and above cards from ATI should be fine in playing HL2 (as long as you have a FAST CPU! It seems like a lot of people have good video cards but slower CPU's such as P4 1.8/2.0...these chips don't really give you a smooth gameplay experience, you should consider upgrading to either a 2.8 or 3.0... or better yet an Athlon64).
