hi, I just set up a website to host vmf files.
it's located at http://www.filefence.com

i'm hoping that the community can use this site to
1) host vmf's
2) download other people's work
3) teach and learn the Valve Hammer editor

i see so many posts saying "help me with X thing", or "i can't get Y thing to work". eventually someone usually asks them to post thier vmf file. hence filefence
Happy Mapping

uh, you expect people to actually fax you a signed document just to join?

no, not at all, i don't even pwn a fax machine.

in related news i have a link up to a map decompiler in the announcements section.

Perhaps there was a glitch? I clicked on the "I'm exactly 13 or older" link, attempted to register, was sent an e-mail saying that I had to fax a form and such to you signed by my parent/guardian (I'm 20, btw). Oh well.

looks pretty nice! hopefully it starts getting used a lot.

Also, any chance you would allow BSPs for showing off in the completed maps section?

thanks, we're working on making the site better all the time.
I have thought of adding bsp upload capabilities, but before i do that i would like to include texture formats and xsi models (compiled, and source files).

there is a decompiler (i have a link in my announcements section), it's not perfect yet, but soon you'll be able to extract your geometry from a bsp anyhow.

thanks for your ongoing support.

added some new files (check out my stairs [for cs:s]). check it out. you could even post something if you wish.

a good idea anyway...is it goin to be DM & SP & CS or just certain ones??

Oh yay. A map decompiler so people can completely rip off other people's maps!
