I have spent the past 45 minutes waiting in line to download a 500mb mod pack from Fileplanet that combines a large listing of popular Fallout 3 mods into one file. I'm wondering if anyone here has already downloaded it & if so, how was it?

This is a collection of all Fallout 3 addons and mods on Fileplanet for one simple download. It includes files that improve the original game with improved game music, characters, weapons, skins, and essential gameplay mods. Pick and choose the mods or addons you want. Here is a quick list of some of the addons available because there are just too many to list.

* Mod removing Level Cap at 20 and Skill cap at 100.
* EXP and level up reducing mods.
* Pip3000 UI mods and different colored skin models.
* Weapons and character stat balancing mods.
* Exciting Power Armor skins.
* Cool characters like Chuck Norris and Doomsday Wasteland Queen.
* New weapons and weapon reskins.
* Hi-Res monster re-skins.
* Different uniforms and outfits.
* New game music

I was actually looking for a way to edit a skill, so that my Speech skill was just a few points higher, (I'm a big, fat, stinking cheater I know) when I saw the above info on the mod. I swore to myself when I started that I would play through Fallout 3 without any mods, but now it looks like i'm gonna make a fibber out of myself. I have 2 more minutes to wait in line before I can start downloading.

Downloading now - T-Minus 10 minutes & counting. Once finished, i'll post more as to how the mod(s) are.

Update: There are well over 65 mods in the pack & not a single one caught my attention. Guess i'll be playing FO3 vanilla after all.

I would totally get that mod pack if it's 100% compatible to my save files.

I don't want to have another epic phail STALKER saved-game experiences.

I would totally get that mod pack if it wasn't for the fact I have the 360 version.

Its quite impressive to see the amount of mods out there already considering there has been no official SDK released as of yet, I?ve downloaded a few of the higher res textures and skins, id recommend the Slower leveling mods too.

Wow, I could only find a total conversion mod on moddb that I thought fallout3 was never going to get modded.

level 20 cap removed; instasold

While reading through the different README's in the mods, alot of them say that they are 100% compatible with saved games. You might want to give them a try. Of course always back up your saved game folder first...

The slower leveling mod looked good, but there are a few to choose from & i'm not sure which one is the best & actually works. I'll try to find the link, but during some searches, I came across a few horror stories how one of the slo-leveling mods that has been released, actually broke several gamers PO3 game, making it unplayable past a point later on.

You know how both Oblivion & Fallout3 have the "Data" folder, well in FO3, after you have placed the mod in the Data folder, you have to then edit a file so that FO3 will see & use the mod. I'm not sure how dependable this is. Can anyone who has beaten the game with a slo-lvl mod, tell use how everything worked for them, what lvl they got to & which mod they used.

Thanks!

There are a few mods created already that increase the level cap, only problem with them is that once you max out all your stats the game kind of crashes.

This doesn't really interest me. There's enough to discover in Fallout 3 without adding lots of random extra crap. Unless someone mods the voice acting. You know, all of it.

The games does that enough as it is, i doubt adding to its problems would be the right thing to do.
