I see that under the "Features" section you guys have added a Files section that isnt opened yet.

Do you plan on this site becomming a good alternative to FileFront?
I dig the idea though.

What do you mean good alternative to FileFront? FileFront is the best there is! Any alternative certainly wouldn't be 'good' in comparison.

We wouldn't ever match Fileplanet or FileFront... at the end of the day, we're a Half-Life 2 website, and they're a generic website for games, utilities and mods... something that Halflife2.net specifically won't ever cover unless it is related to Valve games... and of course there's already sub-sites like halflife2.filefront.com.

So, why don't we have any Half-Life 2 files on there yet? Simply because just running the website and forum uses up nearly 200GB of bandwidth a month and any additional load by offering downloads would dramatically decrease the performance of the website, which really isn't worth it.

Now we could get someone to sponsor us for a file server, but we want our own. Especially as the game-server sponsorships didn't work out very well. But to do that we need money and the Google-Ads don't bring that kind of money in. The text-ads may have done so, but that would have been to the dismay of most visitors to the site.

At the moment, until we find a better solution, there won't be any files.

It costs Munro & co: $0

That's €0, if you were wondering.
That's only because google adds pays the bills.
