Today I was browsing profiles on Steam Community and I was quite shocked how many idiots, nazis (like this lovely boy) and horny kids have their own profiles (especially CS players). Report offensive content function is now really useful but I'm not sure how much it's effective...
If you see these so-called Steam users, report them.
Civic deeds do not go unrewarded. And contrariwise, complicity with their cause will not go unpunished.

As long as a bastion against retardedness is maintained, I am satisfied.

(AKA: I'll report them and leave them be as long as they don't emo spam me a la Myspace)

That's ridiculous. Valve should show no tolerance for this kind of thing, lest they want to be tarnished by allowing them to exist on their system in this way.

By the way, buy yourself some cake, you deserve it.

there is nothing wrong with being a nazi. it is their choice to believe in such things, and publicly state that they do.

racist comments, however, are a different story.

It's ok for them to be racist, and publicly state that they are racist, as long as they don't make racist comments?

As is my understanding, racism is a fundamental part of Nazism.

There is absolutely no difference between making a racist comment and publicly stating that you're racist, they're equally offensive and both protected under freedom of speech.

However, just because they are legally permitted to be Nazis doesn't mean that it's not wrong to be one, and furthermore Valve has no obligation to allow them to have that sort of content on their servers.

Yes, but by expressing the nazi symbol they express discrimination, predjudice, and hatred, which is not allowed. They can put "im a nazi" or something in their profile, but when they express their nazi views (such as through the symbol) then its considered hate speech and prejudice which isnt allowed according to the rules.

Because of the cultural baggage attached to the swastika symbol, it carries essentially the same weight and message as a racist insul made of similar symbols which we call 'words' - there being no essential difference between the word 'n*gger' and a visual sign meaning the same. The swastika is in itself a form of communication, and what it communicates is hate and stupidity.

...You're discriminating against Buddhists!

It was a bit wierd walkling around India and seeing all the swastikas - even saw a shop called "The Swastika Chair Makers."

But it is Valve's choice on what to do with this...

They appear both with and without dots.

To make clear:

The Swastika (symbol of the sun in Buddhism):
swastika1.gif

The Sauwastika (symbol of the moon in Buddhism):

The nazi swastika is tilted so it's like a diamond, so there's a slight difference.

Obviously, the meaning of a symbol depends on the cultural milleau that gives it force.

F*ckin' Nazi, I wanna jack that kid in the face so bad.

And kind of on the topic of furries, a girl once had a fetish for Predator, so she had a deviant art drawing of the Predator having sex with her because she thought it was sexy O_O

I don't know if that is hot or just scary.

One of the furries in this vid is pretty hot, but she also sounds like a dumbass.

It's a ****ing shame that the damn Nazi's adopted the Swastika design. I actually think its a cool design for its flowing symmetry, but never use it because of what it means in this day and age. Sometimes I find myself making a design using various things... for example dominoes... and I take a step back and "****! It's a god damn swastika of sorts" I mean, even the vague resemblance of one and you don't know how people will react.

****ing Nazi idiots.

EDIT: WTF how did furry get into this?

Furry is just bestiality in disguise! :x
