my friend has been ranting and raving about this game for a month now
i havent had a chance to play it myself, but it sounds like alot of fun
ive always been a fan of the series, however, im always discouraged by having to pay monthly to play a game
just curious as to what everyone that's played the game has to say about it
is it worth buying?

I was in the beta, was pretty fun.. but, after I played for an hour with a party of 6 and we all died to a super quadav (or whatever their class was..), I got pretty pissed off lol

I wouldn't buy the game, WoW is much better (even though I didn't get into the beta.. I have friends who did and they say it's all that and a bag of chips)

Its fun for about the free month, like most MMORPGs. The fact that you have to rely on parties is really stressful because idiots out number decent people drastically. For every decent group you get in you'll be in 6.02x10^23 stupid groups. Not to mention that once you get to a higher level you have to wait an hour or more to even get into a group, then about 20 minutes getting to your spot. Then someone will leave while you're getting set up and your party will sit there for a while depending on what class the person was, sometimes taking 30 or more minutes. At the lower levels around 12-20 and your white mage leaves plan to be waiting for quite a while unless you're really lucky.

perhaps ill just sit it out and continue to wait for hl2

heres a tip: dont buy MMORPGs unless there are trading classes and worksmith classes as well, like SW:galaxies. IMO i dislike MMORPGs with only combat classes.

btw, i have never actually played an MMORPG because of the monthly price, so dont rely on my opinion

there are different guilds you can join
for stuff like blacksmithing, goldsmithing etc etc

but the gameplay was unbelievably repititive

I hear you. It was like Diablo 2 x100 and all that running at the lower levels is killer.

I played it for three months consecutivly, and while it was fun, it did get boreing. I played it for about 2 months then took a month off then played it again for a month before totally giving up... if you want the game ill give you my CD and Account lvl 29 Monk, 25 Bard, 14 Beast and so on... with about 200k including my weapons and shiznit

ya know.. i am a huge FF series fan.. and it sucks that this series has gone to the "pay to play" gaming market... this is not what the FF series has been about :|
