you are better off getting the 7900 gt or gtx. or the x1900 xtx

the 7900 is a 100 less, are you sure its as good as the 7800 gtx?

why is it less?

the 7900gt is about the performance of a 7800gtx....try and get a 7900gtx and youll be golden. :)

Well seen as your getting all fancy hardware maybe you could get a nice soundcard.

I <3 my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro

Yeah, i would recommend a soundblaster x-fi over onboard sound as well. Onboard sound is pretty decent nowadays, but the x-fi is still a significant improvement, plus it takes the load off the cpu when gaming.

I don't think his cpu will mind however....

I'm sure it won't, i was just giving my opinion !

Also, the cpu hsf includes "775", i may be wrong, it may just happen to be part of the name, but are you sure that the hsf isn't an LGA775 hsf, and therefore incompatible with a socket 939 amd chip ?

You don't need 300GB of space. I'm not sure why everyone thinks they need these huge amounts. I'd personally get a 74GB raptor (only one). Unless you're going to be booting three or more operating systems on it or are running a server, then I might be able to see why 74GB is not enough.

I agree. 80 Gigs is perfect for most people (including myself).

Well, I collect music as well as playing games. Also I don't like to reinstall games as they are pain in the U-Know-What, updating them and all, so I got 2 drives one 200GB and one 120GB all at 7200RPM.
C:\ for system files and games. Got 130GB of free space.
D:\ User Files (My Documents and Music) Got 40GB of free space.

80GB of music.
70GB of system and games.

150GB of DATA.

Any more questions?

High speed HDDs are just too much now, and I cant trade space for performance at the moment.

I'm amazed that it is even possible to store that much music. Can't you burn the songs to discs? Are these in a compressed archive? Better yet, do you even listen to all of your 80GB of music?

70GB of system and games. Windows isn't even a gigabyte and the typical program isn't above 100MB (I have a few that are). So I assume you love games. How many of them do you play though?

I dunno how some of you guys do that.. really. I'm even fine with 20GB to be perfectly honest. I do manage my files well and only use what I actually need though.
