Finally a chance for those stupid batteries to go obsolete!

I've always wondered how long it would take for them to sort this out.

Hurrah!

Good stuff!

This is indeed looking awesome. Doesn't everyone bloody hate batteries? even recharchable ones?

If you've ever put a screwdriver across a millifarad capacitor (say 100V), you'll know that capacitors of this size are going to be VERY scary :(

There's this guy in Japan developing battery technology for the automobile world I saw on Eco Tech... and currently his car is able to achieve 150 miles per gallon... spending only 400 dollars per 20,000 miles. That's pretty amazing. And he's not even done developing the battery technologies yet.

I wish I had his car :(

giant capacitor equals giant explosion when you crash

"It's a paradigm shift"
No wonder, it's product of nanotechnology research. Great stuff.

Picture using your laptop for 4 hours strait only to be refilled in a few seconds.

Pfft. thats way too much of a hassle. Get it down to 2 seconds and then ill be interested. :)

How long until we can defeat the battery industry then? D:

hmm hard to guess...i'm sure they wont give up without a fight.

with this technology a new era of portable devices will arise.

i bet that the laptop market will swarm over the normal desktops. who the f*** wouldn't have a laptop with the power of a desktop with a long "battery" life and quick recharge?

i'm drooling!

Always wondered what the technological progression of batteries would be. Current Lithium batteries are really not sufficient anymore to power ever increasingly more potent mobile devices.

Wow I had no idea this sort of stuff existed. And they even mentioned it would improve solar energy capturing efficiency??

Is this for real? Will we see this sort of thing in the next few years? Somebody give me an estimate.

by the end of this decade we might see some products coming out. but they'll be expensive. but this is just a guesstimate.
