ok, first sorry for bringing up it again, but it's just such an infamous movie.

ok here's what i thought about it.

it was really not that bad at all, i quite enjoyed it.
as an action movie that is, you really have to look at it from this perspective, otherwise you'll get disappointed.

i sort of had the same feeling when watching 28 weeks later.
good at times but also really stupid.

i really didn't expect for it to have some story, but still, some parts were really poorly explained.
i'd wished they'd stick a bit more to the canon of the avp lore, but i wasn't expecting much in this regard either, especially after seeing the first movie.
it would be great if they kept the cliches down.
in average i felt the whole movie was also bit too fast.

all in all...i recommend it, it's a good pass time movie.

It was shit.

The first one was way better than I'd ever expected (because I expected it to be unprecedented shit, but it turned to actually be quite a good movie), but the sequel was total rubbish.

I thought the first was alright, I'm not going out running to see #2, though.

Nothing beats the Pred movies anyways, They are the best.

@AJ - Do you really ban people who think City 17 is in a specific country? It's obviously in Russia somewhere...

The second was leaps and bounds better than the first.

But that isn't really saying much considering they're both awful movies, but atleast AvP2 was actually fun to watch.

Enjoyable action film with the best movie monsters facing off, I loved it.

This. All of it.

Agreed.

AvP2 is actually pretty decent if you don't have your expectations set high at the outset.
AvP1 was much poorer imo.

Wait... so you have to expect it to be shit so you don't think it's shit when you watch it?

Thanks for funding AvP3 jackasses.

From AvPGalaxy.net:-

So, the Brothers Strause had always talked about doing another one but we had hoped against such a sequel. Well, according to Shock Till You Drop, there's another one coming:

"An anonymous source over at 20th Century Fox got in touch with us over the weekend to relay the news another Aliens vs. Predator sequel is a "certainty" at this point. If you recall, the brothers Strause - who helmed the Christmas release Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem - stated Fox was going to take a "wait-and-see" approach to a third chapter, furthermore, that the story would have to continue in space (details). "AvP-R" grossed a worldwide total of $128.8 million; $41 million domestically. It hits DVD on April 15th (specs and art). No word yet if the Strause brothers will return to the franchise."

Heh, you guys can start your bitching now, I personally can`t wait :D

I didn't mind AvP:Requiem. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as the first one. However, I have two specific gripes:

1) Why oh why oh why does every new writer/director involved with the Alien franchise have to **** about with the alien lifecycle? The predalien could have been cool, but turning it into some bizarre, orally-impregnating alien queen hybrid was just ****ing stupid.

2) Yes, we get that you like to make your little homages to the previous Alien/Predator films. But was there any need to do it in every other scene? Seriously, you could recreate half of AvP:R just by cutting and pasting bits out of the previous films.

that bothered me as well. just too much out of canon

Actually, it does not vreak canon at all, this stage of the queen has never been seen in any other of the movies as the queen has always been encountered
when she`s been around a bit and not a new born one (except for :R, but they kept the queen locked up so they wouldn`t have known she could do this.)
