The new Firefox (2.0) has a inline spellchecker.

I was messing about with it and accidentally added a word to the dictionary I didn't want to, now every time I type that word it doesn't spell check it. How the hell do I reset or remove this word from the spell checkers dictionary? I tried reinstalling, uninstalling, deleting the dictionary, different dictionaries, all sorts and I can't find out how!

Anyone know?

If you accidentally add words that are not spelled correctly (like I have -- six times), you can go to "Documents and Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.default\" and edit the file "persdict.dat". Each word is on it's own line and you can only edit it when FireFox is closed, otherwise, your changes won't be saved.

Joule, thanks so much. I wish they made it accessible through the browser. Little things like this really get to me.

Thank-you.

You're welcome, and I agree. Perhaps you should post that little idea here so that maybe it will be an available feature in Firefox 3.

Don't like Firefox 2 at all, which is a shame because it's a lot better too in many aspects but that doesn't outweigh the annoyance. It's hugely better with memory.

First is that the sessionsaver is shit compared to the SessionSaver addon for Firefox 1.5, you can set that to ask for a confirmation on startup if you want to load the last session. But SessionSaver doesn't work in FF2.

Second is the tabbar that slides instead of just showing lots of small tabs, it's supposed to help the power user that has a lot of tabs open, but it just pisses me off.

I tried the beta and these 'features' are still in sadly. I'll install 1.5 again then...

Downloading, atm. Will post opinions in an hour.

I'm liking the spell checker, although... can someone post the lines of text where you can force like 15 connections to one website at one time?
