Firefox crashes only when im watching streaming videos, what gives? Not all streaming sites tho, certain ones, like youtube, megavideo, or anything like that doesnt, I actually think it might be foreign streaming sites are the ones crashing it.

Help?

xp

Also, what do you mean by flash? im running these off of just streaming videos.

Firefox started crashing for me recently as well, not on streaming videos though, but randomly. I browse the net and suddenly the window saying "Illegal operation blahblah Firefox will now close" pops up. Usually I just drag it down so it doesn't cover my screen and continue what I was doing (the program responds normally) but sometimes it crashes for real. Occassionaly Firefox will just close without warning.

I wonder what's going on.

ktimekiller, I think all those streaming apps on the websites are made in flash, hence atomic's comment.

I'm not sure about Windows, but on Linux, it's a common problem that Flash will freeze up your browser. For me especially it's been when closing pages with playing movies. Curse ye redt... youtube!

I remember when Firefox crashed on me a while ago, when I tried to browse the internets, I had too open Firefox WITH Firefox. Also, Has anyone found FF3 B4 to be crappy?

Beta 4 crashed 6 times, doesn't have a decent address bar, and no home button. wtf Mozilla?

kind of off-topic, but I don't think firefox2 has ever crashed for me. I've been using it for about a year or so.

IE 6?? used to crash quite frequently though. Pissed me off everytime.

I agree, I think it could be caused by a plug-in. Update, or reinstall all of your plug-ins. May want to try re-installing firefox.

Youtube/Megavideo/Dailymotion use Flash to display the videos. Right click on the videos to see what version you have.

Other sites that use things like Quicktime .mov files (usually movie trailer sites) are more likely to crash because Quicktime is a piece of shit.

Windows Media Player streams should be stable in Firefox.

Yeah, a few people I know, including me, have Quicktime crash on them almost every time. Some older versions (on the sites) seem to work ok, but whatever the newest version is is just ass. I have no problem running wmv, xvid, divx, flv, youtube, etc.

I dont think I made the important part very clear, I dont crash on normal english streaming sites, only foreign sites.
