when I click extensions I get an hour glass and nothing happens, I can not longer acess the menu, also I cant seem to find a way to clear out the extensions completely (so they dont reappear when I reinstall) so reinstalling wont solve this..

Have you tried uninstalling, deleting the FF directory, then re-installing?

It stores some extensions in your user profile folder... kill it there

Did you by any chance try installing a theme for Firefox - like a windows style-type of theme?

This happened to me when I did that and I could only fix the problem when I deleted everything and reinstalled. Actually, when I upgraded to 1.0. Good luck. :(

Noooooo not IE! ;(

I wish I could help you out. Do you honestly have that many favourites/extensions implemented into Firefox that you couldn't just write 'em down and go and get them again?
