Okay, the other day I got a message saying Zone Alarm needs to update. I click Okay, download the file and half way through upgrading it ballses up and says some .dll is fecked or somesuch.

No big deal I though, only Zone Alarm has disappeared now. I try to reinstall it, but I get the same .dll issue, and even after downloading and replacing the .dll file it's still not happy.

So I thought I could just not bother with a firewall, but on my computer (I'm on me dads right now) I've got about five minutes from when I log on to use the internet. Any longer and niether Firefox and IE work. All internet applications like LimeWire, MSN and Xfire work fine though. I tried fiddling about with Windows Firewall, I've deleted all left over files from ZoneAlarm but it always happens.

Any Ideas?

I'd hope you have some kind of anti-virus on there was well.
Also, did you try writing down the name of the dll and just searching Google or the ZoneAlarm forums?

Also, Happy 2000th post to me.
:D

The first dll file that file buggered up was "vsmonapi.dll" which I replaced, which got me to the installation, and then the second is "vsdata.dll" which still seems to be ballsed up even after I replaced it.

I might just try and make a new Windows user account, we'll see what that does.

Oh, and I've got nod32 anti-virus software ;)

Edit - Sorted. I always try sorting it out for ages, then when I eventually post here I work it out myself :p

Post here first, thus, problems get solved quicker. :O
