What is it, and where can I get it as I have the "unable to authenticate disc within time limit

I'm assuming that you need an upgraded firmware for your cd-rom or dvd-rom drive...Check the manufacturers website.

You'll want to open your case and look at the serial number or model number of your drive so you can get the right firmware. Do it incorrectly and you might fry it
