Per Pixle Hit Detection.... This was suppose to mean something right? I beat the game and i thought it was just me... But did anyone else relize that no matter where you shot something it did the same damage? Its like... they spent allllll that time getting PPHD set up and then they make it so that a shot in the foot is the same damage as the head.

Also the AI was dumb as a box of rocks. This game did get a little bit slow at points but really it made up for it all in hell. I had to replay that lvl a few times to soke up the graphics goodness...

Sad thing is... I really "besides animation and charectermodels" think that doom's engine looks better although cant be as realistic as source. AKA 99% of doom is in 4 ft sections whyll source can be as open as it wants.

It's per poly, not per pixel.

Headshots do more damage. There are more than one hit zone damage setting thingamabobs.

Per Pixel Hit Detection is different from locational damage modelling. PPHD is just the most accurate way to see whether you shot the model or not. LDM is where you have different damage amounts for each body part.

It doesn't matter to me. A zombie should come at you no matter where it gets damaged. No big deal.

Edit:

It's per poly, not per pixel.

Actually it is per pixel. Per poly doesn't make sense as it would be the same concept as perfectly molded hitboxes. IMO.

Er. I'm quite sure D3 is per-poly, not per-pixel. I could be mistaken, however. Source?

Sorry, you and Shuzer are right. I guess my mind mixed the per-poly hit detection and the per-pixel lighting.
