First episode of Tales Of Monkey Island free to download for a day.

That's great.
I was just planning on buying the first two eps and maybe the SoMI remake, I just wish they'd release a damn demo for the latter.

Srsly?? If you like the original you will like the remake. If you like adventure games in general you will like the SE. The addition of the great voices is worth the price of admission right there, esp. at $4.99! Plus you can switch back and forth between the two versions at any time with one little keystroke. Just get it. :)

This man is correct.

Never played the original and the specs for the SE are strangely high, maybe even enough to the point where I wouldn't be able to run it.

Hey man, I wasn't that big into adventure games.
Played a lot of the kiddie ones and such when I was younger but that was it.

Trying to get back into playing them.

I've been hearing reports that this was actually just a time limited free trial.

Anyone already play it yet?

Also, the game is only 187mb, that can't be right... can it?

i'm downloading it now, but yes its a really small file. either its really compressed or the actually trial base is short

The download I get for my full version is 189mb. So it should be fine.

If you think that's bad, I played the original and didn't like it much :O

I'm pretty sure that if you get it today you can play it forever, due to us season holders getting a code to get a free episode of the game of our choice.

Woah, almost forgot. Saw this thread yesterday and figured i would remember. Wasnt until my friend texted me about it that i remembered. Got it with 2 hours left on the deal.

[strike]I'll try it. Never played it.[/strike]

EDIT:

arrrrr, I'll be tryin my hand at this here game

Tried it ... have to say, what idiot thought that this control system was a good idea?

Both are dire.

Okay, fair enough. I've been using mouse control for a couple of episodes now, though not as good as point and click I've found it does the job. Everyone has their own tastes though.

Shit wouldn't run because of dx9, so I installed dx9 from DiRT, but apparently that's not good enough. Apparently, this game has some really leet graphicx.

I didn't know it was point and click either. That's not something I can enjoy.

The DX9 that comes with DiRT is 2 years old, get the latest one from MS.

When you're moving (using the mouse controls at least), objects aren't highlighted when you go near them. So if you want to see something, you have to move, then stop and see if there's anything there, and then move again.

Bloody annoying. And LeChuck sounds approximately 67% more camp this time round, for some reason.

I never have money when good deals pop up. It's my destiny.
