First time skin man seeking help

First of all i have just started skinning today and am only doing re-skins at the mo, but may i ask where i can get textures for re-skinning because when you see other character models they have differant colours and stuff but also the colours are the same kind of textures used on original models. i am using photoshop 8 to do this is there any way of doing this through photoshop instead of clone stamping other files??? sorry for all the talk its just i only started today

Yes, you select which part of the skin you want to recolor.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+U to desaturate it. Then press CTRL+B and you can use the slider bars to choose what color you would like. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness and Contrast and you can fiddle with that. Finally, go to Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation and play with the saturation bar (the others you won't need by this point.)
