'ello all,

It's been five years (yes five, that's longer that a Master's Degree course including the year out) in the making and it has been delayed.

In this thread I just want people's opinion on the current development process of PC games, and how you think VALVe can justify the fact that even after a HUGE development cycle the game had to be delayed.

The 5 years hasnt been dedicated to making Half Life 2, they've had plenty of other projects.

The delay doesnt factor in this, for all you know Valve couldve never mentioned they were working on Half Life 2 until yesterday...your lucky you even got to know there was a delay.

I bet most of the times been spent on multiplayer, gabe really seems to hype it by being rather secretive about it, its got to be something extreme.

Genius takes time...

I can't wait to play the game, but I will.

Nuff said!

I reckon it will be very very good. And whats a month or so? nuffin.
50 or so days, people.

Oh and Jez, are you Jez of 'The Hatstand' fame, infamous on the pcg forum?

I would rather have a clean game next month than a buggy game today.

Like other people said, they haven't been working on just HL2 alone.

Besides, with the possibilities computers have these days, it's getting more and more intensive to produce games.
Projects are getting bigger and bigger.

Sulk: I can never posy on the sodding PCG/PCZ forum. Keep getting error messages :( So no.

Umm, this has nothing to do with the bugs in the game, Gabe himself said on afew interviews that its being held back so they can add in more laungue's and get ready for a world wide release

And Jez, you made your own point in your 1st post, its been in the makeing for 5 years, and your angry about the date being off for afew days? pfft..
