Hi to all,

I upgraded my desktop recently and on reinstalling Half Life 2 and Episode One I've been having some trouble. During gameplay, some of the objects and characters are replaced by red, flashing 3D 'ERROR'. Also some of the effects are replaced white crossed boxes. Oh yeah, and GMan's lost his eyes. I have the latest drivers for my video card.

I read the earlier thread with Aspirin asking for help on this. I have legitimately purchased these games through Steam. They are not pirate copies. I've attached some screenshots.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer on this.

Well I know Half Life 2 crashes after Gman's intro during the focus pull into the train where you first take control. To be honest I haven't played that far into Episode One cause I wanted to sort this first but no noticable lag so far.

Before Shasta explodes, do you have Steam? I don't doubt it, just asking.

EDIT: You said you had it in the first post, so you don't have to answer this.

Validate your game files.

What are your system specs? Graphics card type, drivers, RAM, etc.

Eyeless Gman looks incredibly Morpheus.

Validate your game files, right click the game, go to properties, then find the 'validate integrity of game cache file's and let Steam fix it for you.

Also ensure you have the latest graphical drivers for your card & directx 9c installed.

no one give specs

people are so damn defiant to give their com specs.

I honest to god don't think this problem has ANYTHING to do with specs...Do what Glenn says. Validate your files. I had this problem before, and that fixed the problem. My buddy had the problem and for some reason, needed to delete the GCF, and reinstall HL2.
