:rolling:
I've been having some problems with the flashlight in Half Life 2.
Sometimes the flashlight "light map" will not show up on certain surfaces when looking at the surface at a specific angle.
I took some pics.
As you can see the flashlight is turned on and the "lightmap" is being drawn on the ceiling and walls of the vent, but not the floor. Like I said it only happens when I view the object/floor from a certain angle, for example in this vent if I would turn around the floor would look "normal" (the light map is being drawn in the floor), but if I turn back again the problem is still there, no light map!
Now this happens at different areas in the game. Like when you're walking down the stairs, the light map will be missing from the steps.
Another problem I'm having is textures.
See this picture for example.
Full resolution
Look in the middle of the picture, see the colour artefacts? Is this normal? I see this all over the place in the game, mostly in the transition area between a light room and a dark room, very, very annoying. To me it looks like a low-bitrate texture. 16-bit textures in some games have this problem.
My system specs.
Pentium 4 3.4GHz HTT Prescott
1024 MB DDR2 533Mhz (PC4300)
GeForce 6800 256MB PCI-E (Drivers: 77.30 Bitrate 32-bit in Windows)
