flat panel monitor

My cousin bought that monitor and really likes it.

I'm thinking of getting that one tbh.

Do you want to play games on it? It would be awesome for desktop or movies. Keep in mind that LCDs have a native resolution and games would have to play at 1440x900 on that screen to look their best. Otherwise the screen will scale the resolution but it can look worse. It's possible not all games would support that resolution. Just something to keep in mind.

yes i know about that and its easy to change the resolution manually. also i am going to be using games for it right now i have a 17"crt which is kinda old thoguh

thats cool but alittle out of my price range do you guys know of any other sites for good deals?

Image Stretching? nVidia has an option for it to scale correctly which works. Not sure if ATi have a similar feature.

There is alway widescreengamingforum.com though!

This is a great place to look. Very quick and very reliable and very cheap. Order Monday, get it Wednesday in most cases.

If the resolution is supported then you are fine which is what you want. A lot of games do support widescreen resolutions.

But if you are running a different resolution then it won't look as good as if you ran at the LCD's native resolution. An LCD has a specific number of pixels (1280x1024 for mine). If a game runs at 1024x768 or 1600x1200 then the dots with detail from the game will have to either share a pixel or stretch over a couple pixels on the LCD to fit the screen. That will not look quite as good if every dot of what the game is displaying has it's own LCD pixel. For my LCD screen I run games at 1280x1024 because my LCD has 1280x1024 pixels.

they suck ..they sell cheap no name crap at reduced prices (probably because no one else carries it) yet overprice the most popular stuff ...it's better for corporate accounts (my company purchases from them on a regular basis) than consumer stuff ...I think tiger direct is near the bottom of my list of where to shop for computer parts ..right after Best Buy and Future crap

I have heard a lot of bad stuff about tigerdirect. Though I never order from them so I don't have any personal experience with tigerdirect. I order mostly through Newegg.
