What's up with this flesh hook suspension thing? I don't get it... really.

On ripley's, they've probably featured like 2 dozen flesh hook suspension things, and really its just starting to become a bore now. THe most recent one I saw was a couple who got married while being flesh hook suspended, and so was the person marrying them. Crazy...

From what I can make of it, it is either a Gothic style act to show some kind of gothic pride, or to just show how tough you are. Either reason is dumb and pointless.

I agree... I never heard of it before I saw ripleys, and they make it out to be such a big thing. I don't see the point. If you want to hang yourself like a fish, let me gut you while you're at it... that way we can all be happy.
