Fog

Having a bit of trouble making decent lookin fog...im using the func_smokevolume entity...but my fog either appears in tiny little bits that are too spread out or really big bits that are just all stuck together and too dense. I'd like the fog to be more 'misty' and a lot more see through, how can i achieve this effect?
 
use the fog controller to get your basic fog setup, and then use the dust/cloud effects to add that little touch of volume to it, but don't overuse them too much as it can really bog things down if its a busy scene.
