I need to find a grass model for my map but I dont see it anywhere. I've looked in every folder and still can't find it. Maybe I overlooked it or something? Can anyone hint me where it is? Much appreciated!

isn´t grass made with a texture that defines where grass objects should appear?

Yeah I believe the grass appears on certain pieces of terrain textures. If you need to place some individually maybe look for how to create a sprite and find a grass sprite?

Grass is dynamically placed by the game engine so to make grass place some "blend" textures they use grass.

Are we talking CS of HL2? Cause I know in HL2 there are Cattails and Brambles in the foilage models folder.

HL2 but I looked in foilage folder and didn't find anything... only some bushes or something like that... but I'll try blend textures. Thanks!

I think you'll have to use sprites dude. not sure how much the source engine can take if you have a grassy meadow in mind though.

Thats more of a farcry thing, hammer and the cryedit combined... would be the best editor ever released.. the ability for indoor/urban is hammer, but outdoor splender is all cryedit.. too bad they cant mix it up :p

hmmmm... that would be an interesting engine..... What kinds of big open spaces can source handle?
I mean, what would happen if we made a wide open plain. With grass.... That would be nice.
I wonder, could one make a program to take a certain part of the level geometry, and make a 3-d "carpet" of animated grass sprites. That would do the trick me tinks.

thats a shite load of sprites dude. Chances are that it'd be fairly processor/GPU intensive.

There is a limit to how many of these foliage sprites you can have per surface. With some creative fiddling about you could probably make it very thick grass effect though. Doesn't effect framerate at the maximums (just edit the detail.vbsp i think it was)
