font question

im trying to use a slipknot font. i downloaded it and everything and i can select it on the font menue. but when i type its in symbol. how can you change it

Not even going to start on the grammar. What do you mean by "Its in symbol" ? Perhaps some keys arent for letters but for parts of the logo (I know some fonts do this.) Or maybe the whole font is in uppercase, try capitalizing some letters, see if that works. Try using a different program, maybe the font doesnt work with that particular one, if all that fails, perhaps re-download the file, or a different one.

Well, for me atleast.. custom fonts don't work in utilities like, notepad or wordpad =/

o i am using notepad. when i say symbol i mean its all boxes. all the letters.
