So before I buy these things - WHAT'S GONNA BE DIFFERENT ABOUT THE OEM THEN RETAIL!? ;(

retail is only "better" because it has the shiny box and all the shit that goes with it.

oem is usually in a plain box with very minimal documentation, and sometimes no software.

but the product itself is the same, its a nice way to get hardware a little cheaper, i always go for oem cause i dont need shiny boxes and crap.

Same here, sometimes OEM wont come with the same warranty though

Unless you are getting a cpu fan get retail. OEM processors don't come with a fan. XP fans aren't very good but will do the trick if you dont plan to overclock.

from newegg i'd say get a oem athlon xp and a slk-800 heatsink and like a tornado fan or the like
