That's why there's a limit, so that people can't do that.

I think the good points of being able to edit after those 15 minutes outweigh the only bad point that people can take their stuff back...

We tried this before, well it was actually accidental, the forum was upgraded and the edit limit defaulted to 24 hours. Needless to say a good majority of those who realised this would go back editing their posts after a moderator had already done it. Which of course got them into more trouble for pulling a stunt like that.

So no, 15 minutes max, any longer and people will abuse it and spoil it for those who wouldn't.

Anyways, what about a compromise - 30 mins? Gives a busy dial-up user enough time to reload and finish off other stuff ...

i think thats fair.. 1 hour is fair too.. especially if u consider times when the forum is so busy and it slows down because of the traffic.

i remember in September 2003 the forum was quite slow and editing posts became a slow and an annoying proccess.

I don't think it should be changed, since most edits are for spelling changes and the like, they can be done within the 15 min limit.

Fifteen minutes is more than enough to review, edit, change, correct or worship any post you may want changing. It'll stick to the same old formula.

The 15 minute limit was put there mainly becuase of people editing out Moderator's edits, and changing their posts to make people look stupid. I'm afraid it's a case of the idiots spoiling it for everyone else.
