on a somewhat related not, i just found Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Pinball gameboy games while cleaning my room. Even though I had both, I only played the Pinball game a couple times. And that is the extent of my Pokemon debauchery, so I guess my soul is ok

I haven't played a single game of pokemon.

Watched my fair share of the old pokemon episodes though. My little cousins were always up watching it while I was getting ready for school. They left for the bus later than I did.

I never got into the pokemon craze. While my friends raved on about pokemon at my school, i was too busy harassing the girls and wanking in the bathroom. No time to trade silly cards with paint on them, there were GIRLS out there, GIRLS.

My fondest memories of Pokemon was when it was in it's heyday back in 5th grade. Originally what happened was I noticed all the kids on the playground were playing it so I wanted to have friends.

I thought it was stupid initially and I joined a Nintendo fan group way back in the day. They sent me stuff that I think was corporate material. Sometimes they would send stickers but one time they sent me a VHS tape right before a camping trip. It basically was saying that Pokemon was going to be the biggest thing since sliced bread (in 1998), merchandise like plush toys that didn't come for years. Unfortunately I threw the tape away.

One day I remember though Josh got a Charizard card. The card must have passed 3 hands in trading in 1 recess. The kid got a crap load of cards for it and I asked my friend "why is he trading so much" to which my friend said "it's the rarest card, it does 100 damage and costs $100". It blew my mind because a single card was worth $100.

Over time I got movie promo cards, did the Toys R' Us Pokemon events getting huge promo cards, then eventually abandoned American cards for the Japanese ones. Mainly I liked the art better.

My cousin when he was younger shocked me because he liked the Power Rangers and Pokemon. I grew out of it when I hit 13 but I considered giving him the collection. He had the same excitement I did as a kid but didn't give him the collection. I'm mainly keeping them for the art, nostalgic purposes, and to give to my kids.
