i wanted to know how the game has been running for you people that dont have these insane x800pe and 6800 GTUltras. this is for pepole to dicuss their decent setups.

I got:

GeForce FX 5600
1 GB RAM
P4 2.8 Ghz

im still unlocking so ill get back with the performance...
 
i got the 5200, seems to work fine, graphics looks sweet, just not as sharp as the higher end cards, but still very good.
 
I had a 9800 Pro and was stuttering. I changed Filtering to Bilinear. That's the main cruncher.

can you PLEASE tell me what processor you are using and how much ram you have? also what graphics setting, res, and how many frames per second.

sorry for all the questions, but i am obbsessing over this game until tomorrow.
 
Yes, could all people with a GeForce FX 5--- series please say your system specs and how well HL2 runs?

cso i got a 5200 and i get wireframes...

its been running for hours str8 without a glitch

looks fekin amazin aswell - just taking a breakfast break then str8 back @ it ....

man the whole of water hazard just looks unreal - this engine just pisses on doom3 completely
 
yer i got

cpu: AMD Athlon XP 2400
ram: 256MB desperately need more
video card: GeXCube Radeon 9600XT 256MB

runs like a pig with everything on high (1280x1024) havnt treid any other settings havnet had the time. But i did turn off aa and af and that helped alot.

Must say this game is ****ing beautiful
 
is everyone with a fx 5200 getting firewires? i am really hoping that is a bug with the steam.

Game runs super smooth for me, around 50-100fps.
Water looks amazing, textures and models do to as well
Everything is on high, aaoff and af off.
I get stuttering when too many things blow up at once other than that no problems, dx8 looks awesome. I can only imagine a p4 3.0 with x800 and 1gig of ram and what that would play like.

just curious is your setup much better than mine?

3400+ amd athlon 64
512 ram
fx 5200

Yer i can answer you tomorrow...when i get the game delivered to me.... stupid Australia....

Anyway as i have... similar specs...

GeForce fx5200
3.2gHz Pentium 4
512mb ram.....

Can anyone say how's the game performing on 256MB RAM? I have XP1500+, 256MB RAM and R9000 64MB :/

can u test this launch settings 2 c if it works.. cos i stupidly deleted my preloading...

n get back 2 me if it works..

FX5200's (non-ulltra) performance is compared to Radeon 9100 (and in some benchmarks, R9000).
I don't know which nVidia card should R9100 be compared to, but I'd say that ti4600 is a bit faster than fx5200.

9800 pro

Runs perfect, slight stuttering at the begining and just after load times, everything on default including trilinear.

No AA or AF cos to be honest, dont think the game needs it at all even at 1024x768 which is what am playing in.

Lowest I have seen it hit was about 33 fps, its normally around 80-100 fps, smooth as silk

well, if he could run it at high with a res of 1024x768, and FPS of 50-100, then could i run the game at high with a res of 1024x768, at about 30-50 FPS?

1024x786 Medium settings - 50 fps+

Smooth as silk except when it seems to load certain things. Then the game just stutters a few frames.
 
How bout mine can any gamers plz tell me how well my pc will run on HL 2
