So I plan to format my PC after a long time. I lost my Windows CD but I *found* it.

>_>

Anyway, my current Windows copy is so messed up. Nothing is detecting anything, random program crashes amoung other problems. So I finish dow- ... finding my Windows CD and I go to put some stuff on a DVD and I'm getting Windows errros through the roof. I can't write anything on anything. I've tryed the built-in Windows thing and Alcohol 120%. I've got a lot of videos and such on here amoung Sony Vegas projects that I'd like to save. This also may mean that I cannot [pirate]copy the Windows .iso onto a CD.[/pirate] Any ideas?

Do you have another computer on a local network you could use?

have you tried doing check disk? some files might be corrupt

I'm doing CHKDSK atm, actually, but I think it just crashed. This computer is really pissing me off. It looks like Alcohol 120% is going to burn the Windows .iso so I think I'm good.

EDIT: Yep, it's done copying so... wish me luck.

Sounds even worse than my last reformat. And I thought it was a nightmare.

Good luck <3

Just a little bit of advice for next time, don't use the Windows burning tool, as it has a tendency to do a rather lot more harm than it does good - especially if you have another burning engine on the computer - they can come into conflict, as the Windows one SHOULD be disabled by Nero/Alcohol etc...

Wow.

I'm surprised. It worked flawlessly. I love formats.
