This is getting surprisingly little coverage here in Bahrain...the one article about this that I did find in a local paper, was in Al-Wasat, a controversial opposition paper that said they had to use British and French media as their sources because local officials refused to speak about the matter.

My guess is that since a lot of Bahraini big businessmen are heavily invested in Formula One and probably have close links with FIA, they don't want to stain the image of the sport and its officials here and so try to stop media coverage surrounding this whole scandal. One of the consequences of Bahrain being "Westernized" is that it has become a corporatocracy.
