I have noticed that recently there has been less and less posts from when i joined.

whats happened to all the activity HL2.net? i sometimes hove to wait hours for a new post.

i know that I am in a different time zone to many people,
but there are many thousands of members from all around the world

do you feel the same way as me?

You've been here for two months, there has been much longer quiet periods in the past.

Not all members post in all threads. There are actually far fewer than 'thousands' of members for example who post in off topic areas.

I do agree that the forums have been slow lately though, as it's been driving me insane. Since I have no life, and my entertainment value is entirely dependent on people who do have lives but suspend them long enough to post here.

guess so. this is where i post most of the time.

its a weekend, so i dont have much to do. apart from HW and TV.

I rarely post now, half-lif2.net just getting duller when EP3 doesn't come out.

Oh, I'm sorry, let us all entertain you kid who joined two months ago.

Why do you do this to me, HL2.net? I didn't even make my "reaction faces" folder for you; it was for imageboards, not forums. Yet every five posts it seems like I'm posting another reaction face. I don't even post that many on imageboards! I mean, at least I'm getting use out of it, but I don't want to turn into "that reaction face guy." But here you are saying stupid things, again, that almost DEMAND me opening up imageshack in another tab--which, by the way, is on Firefox speed dial now thanks to you--and uploading a picture.

Because I could sit here and explain why the OP is wrong, how this forum has always been slow-ass. How you can wake up in the morning, check the posts from yesterday (the threads in which were at the top last night, and will still probably be at the top tomorrow night, and the day after tomorrow), post some replies, and leave the forum for several hours and not expect a response. Actually, you could visit HL2.net once a day, for about ten minutes--if even that--make your replies, and not stop by for two or three days. Don't worry, there will be no activity in your absence.

I could go on and give theories as to why this is: there's only so much news you can discuss (which counts for most of The Lounge ["HAY GUISE DID YOU READ THA NEWS?!]), there are only so many opinions, this forum has like 150 members tops and nothing really interesting ever happens to them on a daily basis, so you don't get too many "interesting thing happened to me today" posts. Our forum moderators hate "games" so threads that might see good, rapid activity will get closed pretty fast. The same with fadlike "incidents," and "Miscellaneous"-style threads are frowned upon and closed.

And I could tell you about how this hasn't been anything new, that the forum has been this way for years. The only explosions of activity have been when new games are released, and even that's been waning lately.

And I could give you my opinion that this forum is a gigantic deadzone and frankly I think anyone who's still hanging around here simply has nothing better to do, including yours truly. It's sad that I can actually go and party for a week with my friends, come home and log onto HL2.net, and the same damn threads are on the first page of The Lounge.

But all of this would have been easily summed up by quoting the OP's post in a way that emphasizes where he made his mistake and responding with an image.
